Threads are inanimate so I doubt they have any religious doctrine.

Forget religion. There has to be a God. Nothing else makes sense. Conception/child birth process alone does it for me. I'll throw in DNA and fingerprints.

Former Catholic teetering between agnostic and atheist.

I’m not sure if there is/is not a god/gods. I am sure organized religion is the worst thing that’s ever happened to mankind, as religion has led to more bloodshed than any other cause or issue.
Man has certainly made a mess of organized religion for the most part.

Faithful Catholic here…..
Serious question from someone not religious but knowledgable of religions. How can reconcile with a religion with such a long list of inconsistency, unbiblical doctrine (if the Bible is your guiding document), and systematic moral lapses? Selling indulgences, the inquisition, unmarried priests, the Crusades, priests as intercessors to God, rampant turn-the-other way pedophilia, a worshipped pope, etc.

As a lapsed Catholic, the sex with little boys scandal is what led me to leave the church and never look back. I’m not taking moral advice from an organization that paid millions in hush money and transferred offending priests to new parishes instead of … prosecuting those sick bastards to the fullest extent of the law.

I also disagree with the church’s stance on birth control and think priests should be able to marry. Maybe if they could have sex with their wives, they’d stop having sex with children.

Estonian Reformed here, you heathen.

Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!" He said, "Nobody loves me." I said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?"

He said, "Yes." I said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?" He said, "A Christian." I said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?" He said, "Protestant." I said, "Me, too! What franchise?" He said, "Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?" He said, "Northern Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?"

He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region." I said, "Me, too!"

Northern Conservative†Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912." I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over.

That’s a great joke, gets me every time. Is that Geechy Guy that performs it?
