I would get the first one that came out and of course it would have more than a few mistakes but it was first!

Then I would end up buying 2-3 more, read them at the pool, relaxing.

I do remember. However, I also remember the majority of the posters here are my grandkids‘ peers and likely have only seen print magazines and newspapers in libraries, if at all. Doesn’t that make you feel young?!

I started getting into them around 2000, then NU got blasted to end 2001 and I didn't want to read about how irrelevant my team was. So I guess I saved money in the long run.

Back in the 80's I would get all the pre-season magazines. It was always fun to read them.

I can’t remember which one, but one of the preseason mags used to, maybe still does, have a section with tailgating recipes from across the country.

We subscribed to Huskers illustrated. Guys at school would each buy one of the other magazines and then we all took our turns reading them. I never had a study hall so I didn't get my hands on them too often

When I was in the Marines in the early to mid 90's, those things were life savers. I even subscribed to Husker Illustrated to get more Husker fix. Monday morning after game weekends were great too because USA Today had all the stats from the Saturday game. It was cool that the Huskers were really kicking *** at that time too.

I remember doing all that. The write ups were a joke. They barely knew our team. And loaded with gambling advertisements. That's what I remember from the 80s.

When I was deployed on the 90s, my father sent me a subscription for OWH Big Red package. They were much better than those preseason mags.

Then when we got the internet it was bye-bye mags for good. I still have the 92 Nebraska program guide.

I still get Lindy's, Athlon, and Street and Smith. More for the H.S and NFL draft prospects. I also buy the pre draft issues in the spring.

I used to buy every single one I could find and then I'd read them daily. I loved them. That ended about 15 years ago. I haven't purchased another one since. I suppose that was about the time when my overall interest in college football began to wane. I was a 10 (I lived for college football), but now I'm a 3 (and gradually declining). I'm now at the point where I don't care if I miss a Nebraska game. I watch some, but I'm also perfectly okay with just checking the score that evening if I miss the game.

Honestly don't think I've bought one since the late 90s, very early 2000s. Once the internet became a "thing", that's pretty much only where I would get my information from.
