we were worried about where the scoring was going to come from this season? Sheesh, what a long time ago.

Also, I remember some haters who said Tre Jones ONLY looked good because he played with 3 other lottery picks and he would suck without them this year.

(Hint: It was the same fan base that said Zion wasn’t going to be good in college because he was fat and only dunked on slow, white boys in HS. That same fan base also lost to Duke 118-84 last November as well).

We had 5 players with double digit scoring last night and none of them were our leading scorer (Vernon), and Wendell Moore didn’t play.. I love seeing that.

That’s what I love about this team.
If you are the opposing coach, how do you prepare? Who do you key in on? Vernon and Tre? Go ahead!!! Hurt or Stanley, or both will kill you!! Got an answer for them? What you gonna do when Alex is red hot??!!

I think our ball movement and patience on O has enabled the whole team to improve their efficiency on O.
Early on, they were really focusing on shutting Vernon down. At one point, we dumped it into Vernon a couple of times in a row. He was well defended. Instead of forcing things, he kept on passing out, but not right away. He tried a move or 2, forcing the D to collapse on him. That led to multiple passes around the perimeter and great looks from 3, which we made. Then guys attacked the basket, or at least probed doing so. We really had their D scrambling. Eventually, things opened up a little for Vernon down low.
We made them defend everything. The perimeter, the post, dribble penetration, and mid range. This has improved our efficiency at all scoring levels.

This team is full of humble and teachable players. I have yet to see any sign of selfish play. True we are winning and that in itself makes things go smoother. The chemistry is really good but once again winning helps. We have so many players contributing. With the exception of the SFA game whichas now seems like an out of the body experience I've been pretty relaxed every game. I'm looking forward to just how far this team can go. Also another thing that I'm really liking about these season so far is this board itself. We've been a whole lot more supportive and less critical of the team. We still have our different views but we've been more respectful. This board has always been supportive of times when the members may be struggling with health and other issues but the season it seems we havery even come closer as friends and Duke fans. My wife says this board has become my addictiion and she is right. I refuse to go to rehab. OFC
