I don't know why they're restricting it to only a few cities. They ought to say, you can live in a freaking cabin in the woods in WV if you like, you can do it and get the income tax, which you'll end up paying us instead of some other state, we'll give you the financial incentive and outdoor gear.

That was my thought.

Because of infrastructure. What good does it do to let them pick a cabin in the woods and have it fail because the Internet sucks?

I'm guessing they probably figured some new person moving into WV, and being exposed to pillbillies in Kermit, WV likely wouldn't have been a great start to the program.

Right. It's not that difficult to figure out why they chose those 3 locations for the initial phase. Read the Intuit dude's own statements on this.

The program needs to rethink Shepherdstown then. Internet in that area gets spotty with some coverage.

Though Martinsburg signed a new agreement with a new Fiber ISP that will be moving into the city. So city residents will actually have a choice between two high speed internet providers.
