Replacing pope would be all in on one guy.

Not nate Oates. Nothing Hurley. It’s embarrassingly obvious Todd golden is the guy for the job. He’s expressed a desire to coach at a blue blood or nba. I say you make him the highest paid coach and if you want to lock it down. Make Scott Strickland the highest paid AD. Would solve a lot of problems and he knows our expectations. He was all in with UK

Seems like he’s doing fine right where he is.

Florida would never let that happen
Why? What power do they have? If bama wanted sumerall they could have him he would leave Florida for the history of the program. UK is no different other blueblood in any sport. Coaches want to be there and I promise. If UK made golden the highest paid coach from day 1 Florida can’t match it they won’t. This is the most common sense hire that has lined up for us. Mess around too long with pope and the window will slam shut. But this crap that bama or even lsu can get who they want in fb but UK can’t bring an elite coach from a fb school for our elite bb program. That’s what we have dealt with for a quarter century is this trash of lower expectations Barney used to brainwash Kentuckians. Are we a blueblood or not? If we are we need to act like it and believe we can land who we want. The ad who is leaving he didn’t know how to win. How to maintain our tradition. He didn’t care. Well time to make it right but it’s gonna be $$$$

Would Sumrall leave if he had just won a national title and was on the verge of a possible repeat? We could have got Golden instead of Pope, if our AD was capable of doing his job and had any foresight. But that's a long time ago at this point. I think they would match our offer.

We wanted Hurley, Drew, Oats and Few and we're willing to make them the highest paid in CBB. They all said no thanks and got Pope. I doubt it will be any different if Pope goes.. ..

One can hardly blame these guys for turning us down. The least little adversity and 3/4 of the fan base is ready to FARRRRRR the coach

I don’t realistically believe we can poach a coach who has already won a title unless it’s one on the downside of his career like Pitino

In Golden’s case:
Why would you give up living in Florida for living in a place with actual winter? The coeds he likes so much will wear coats here during basketball season.

Why would you give up a low pressure job with solid NIL/facilities and a winning culture you built on your own to come be just another Kentucky coach and deal with fans who expect to win the title literally every season, many of whom call for the coach’s head after each and every loss? (We had a very limited few people wanting to fire Cal in late February of 2011 because these freshmen couldn’t win a road game.)

My guess is the closest Golden comes to coaching here is feigning interest to earn a big fat raise from UF, just like the last former championship-winning UF coach.

Some of y’all don’t want to hear it but BBN is kind of a net negative for luring a top coach in the social media era. We stalk planes. We watch candidates’ families get off planes. We call restaurants where candidates are eating meals. Many of us think that’s peak fanning. Everyone else thinks it’s weird and creepy.

It takes a special person to succeed here. This job is about so much more than coaching basketball games and recruiting. There’s a reason the shelf life is about 10 years, if that, to coach here. I don’t care for the guy, but Pearl would fit hete personality wise. I don’t know if Golden’s skin is thick enough to handle the second guessing of every decision he makes by people who likely have never coached a D1 game.

Probably post of the year. It won’t get the respect “Dammit, we’re IU” would get, but holy hell everything you said was facts. This was your platinum record and I’m glad I got to hear it.

These coaches don't think like you. They want that pressure and that challenge.

Dear lord! You people nuts. You just throw names out there based on one game you watched. I don't think you even know his name
Well for your information there tough guy, his name Bucky McMillan. And no, I’m not just throwing names out there. Have you seen the dudes coaching track record??? I think he won 4 or 5 state titles in highschool, then at Samford he won his conference Coach of the year. And he’s off to a great start at A&M. He has shown that he can coach. The only thing that’s nuts is when people like you make dumb *** comments to other Cats fans.

Golden wont leave the place he actually won a title at. You learned nothing with Hurley huh? maybe after a few years of the school no longer giving the same level of support and they feel they couldnt win another title there but Golden still feels he can win a title at UF so we wont be able to get him
