Greg, I think it would be interesting to do a story on our wrestling team athletic trainer, Dan Monthly and our team counselor, Bonnie Epstein. I'd like to hear what their week entails working with the wrestlers. Thanks.
That's a great idea. I've tried previously to no avail, but will certainly try again!

I think it would be interesting to interview the staff discussing their thought process behind creating the non-conference schedule.
That'll come up next week for sure but for starters, Wyoming wraps up a home and home, they like the Black Knight Invite to get same-team competition outside of the room, and the Collegiate Wrestling Duals is a good chance to have guys get a postseason-like feel for things before the Big Ten season starts. Will be curious to hear the thought with Drexel, and Oklahoma as well.

If the paycom national duals gets moved back a few weeks to early or mid December I think we see Penn st go. U23 worlds is Oct 12-18 next year and in Vegas

Some information on how the non conference schedule is determined. Is it mostly due to availability or are there other bigger factors like getting access to other high-school wrestling hobeds. Maybe a little info on the recruiting processes and the NIL affect.

Expect to cover both of these next week. Thanks!

I would like the individual wrestlers to be introduced prior to the beginning of the match in much the same way as Sunday Night Football, have each wrestler introduce themselves, where they are from and any other interesting tidbit, also the opposing team
Extra credit if they do funny stuff like “Blaine Bishop…. Old School”

Room facts- Is there a statute of limitations. I'd like to hear actual 1st hand accounts about Zain and Jason getting after it before I die.
I actually know the answer to your question, and my information came directly from the older brother of one of the PSU wrestlers who was there. However, since none of the PSU wrestlers has ever divulged what happened, I don't think I should either.

Older brother wouldn't be a first hand account would it? Obviously the brother told the other brother so it has been divulged. So you dont actually know for sure , do you?

Nope - I do know. The older brother was also a good wrestler and NCAA qualifier and both of them were very good friends with Jason. I'll leave the names out of the discussion, but if you do a little digging, you'll be able to figure out who I'm talking about.

There are so many “room guys” on the team - many that could probably start other places. Theyre instrumental to the team’s success, but we barely hear anything about them. I’d love to hear a story/interview on some of these guys and learn their story. Why PSU? Why stay here when the portal makes options available? I think it takes a pretty special person to stay as long as some do without the limelight - probably some great stories in there.

One thing that I don't like about the new 30 roster limit, is that it makes it harder for those room guys that really want to attend that school and learn from that wrestling program while paying their own way. Those guys were the last vestige of what college student athletes were supposed to be. Yes, these kids can still compete on club teams, but if they have coaching aspirations, it is better for them to be in a varsity room. How many middle school & high school wrestling programs have benefited from a coach that hung around and learned a DI program for four years? Long term, I think this hurts the kids that can't afford to go to the club programs run by former NCAA stars.
