We must revamp our whole offensive coaching staff in the off season, yes that means keeping Beamer 1 more season, there are way too many top schools searching for head coaches and we know how that turned out last time for us (mushçhamp).for now let's go get a OC that fits our Qbs.

Yes, need to revamp and no Beamer ain’t going anywhere. But this also means there is likely very little to look for to in 2026. Beamer doesn’t know how to or can’t attract a good OC.

It's obvious to me that Beamer is trying to save his job. Donati is no fool. I don't believe he is going to put up with this kind of football beyond 2026. I'm at the age where I wish Beamer was going this year. But, we just have to believe that Donati is going to straighten out this mess of a program.

Here's a thought. What sort of OC is going to sign up for the job knowing Beamer could be out the door next year.

We all know we need a new OC, there's a vacancy there now.

But how do you pitch that or any other open position to a guy. "Come work here, we might make it more than a year. And yeah, the awesome qb everyone loves is leaving."

The AD is already gearing for the 2026 hiring cycle. You can bet the house on it.

Agreed.

I also dislike the idea that there are a lot of open jobs, so we wont get who we want. Yes, that brought us Muschamp, but thats because the AD felt the need for SEC experience, and was also an idiot.

We aren't going to swim in the same coaching search waters as PSU, or other big schools.

We should be searching G5 HE'S or G5 offensive coordinators and let them ither schools go after the big name splash hires.

Not exactly a novel idea. Everybody knows that Beamer will be back and everybody knows what he has to do to save his @$$ beyond next season.
Does he need to go out and take a portal QB if one is available? Going to be tough saving your *** with a rookie QB and a new OC.

It would be a tough sell to bring in anyone unless (1) they are hired as HCIW; or (2) we extend Beamer's contract. Frankly, I think Beamer is gone in December. They'd probably fire him now but we are down 2 coaches already.

I suspect that Donati has lined up the wealthy boosters among alumni to buy out Beamer. I was thinking along the lines of 2026. I hope you are right about December. That would be a fantastic Christmas present.

Let him and whomever he hires worry about it. They get paid enough. What LaNorris does might dictate their strategy.

Just as everyone know Beamer will be back. Everyone also knows LaNorris is gone at the end of the year.

He has played a pretty lousy season so far. Do you think his draft status would slip enough for him to stay?

If he stays, would he be better off jumping to a program with a better offensive mind to really emphasize his talents?

Agree, with so many other schools looking for coaches, I don't think we would have a chance at a decent coach.

I think it's similar to the situation Norvell was in this year at Florida State when they picked up Gus Malzahn. A guy with experience but who probably isn't going to be a HC at a P4 school again. You throw a bunch of money at them with a 2 year contract that everybody knows may only be a one-year job.

Aside from that, I have no idea. I just don't think there's some offensive "savior" out there. But . . . given where our offense was this year, dead last in the conference in almost every category, I'm not sure we need an offensive wizard. With a merely average offense, we'd probably have 2 or 3 more wins this year.

To be honest, i haven't kept up with his draft status. We have all watched him take a step back this season. I don't always understand NFL QB projections based on potential. If have seen QB's taken in the first round that were head scratchers.

I watched L.S. interview last night. I wouldn't say he has checked out, but he made it clear by his body language and tone that he's had enough.

I would put 70% of his bad year on coaching. 30% on him. You could argue the OL has been the issue but I would put that on coaching.

If i'm in his shoes, there is no chance i'm coming back. The coaching staff has let him down.

I think the only way there's a shot at someone decent is by bringing in a young guy from the lower ranks who knows he likely has a few more stops in his career before being able to settle in somewhere for a while. Coaches move alot, comes with the territory. So find someone who is okay with the idea of this possibly (likely) being only for one season as it may help him out in the long run of his career. This however will be a very small pool of candidates.

I also wonder if Clayton White will find employment elsewhere. If that is the case then Beamer is definitely done next year.

Sellers should go somewhere else for his benefit. His numbers from last year are similar to Anthony Richardson's from his only full year as a starter and he was a first round pick. I still don't understand that because AR just always seemed awful. I'm guess half of his yards came in one game... So Sellers does have first round potential.
