I know Florida and Georgia and USC lost, but the last third of the season had to have tempered the SEC East weakness argument a little bit. Vandy killed Ole Miss, Mizzou beat Arky, Georgia beat Auburn, and of course, the Cats beat the Cards on the road.

The East has no Alabama, nor does any other division in the country. But in the last third of the season, the East handled themselves respectably against the lesser lights of the SEC West.

Oh, and the Gators over LSU at LSU . . . . I wonder what the final tally of East vs. West schools was?

No dominant coach or team right now. Florida can blow out UK team that could give the gators a run now and turn around and barely beat Vanderbilt.

But that isn't necessarily bad. You look at the west and there is basically no discussion as to who is going to come out, and it's a pretty safe bet that Auburn and LSU will be battling for 2. Pretty safe bet for that to be the case going forward.

In the east, Florida wins it this year but it could have easily been UT, UGA, UK. Hell, Vandy gave just about every body east and west a dog fight. After the gators there's 3 teams at .500 in conference, and next year it could just as easily be SC, Mizzou, and Vandy at 4-4 right behind UK.

I don't foresee things changing in the near future.

A bunch of fairly evenly matched teams that could beat each other on any given Saturday.I expect overall improvement in the East next year,we will need to get better to stay in step(which I think we will) The East wasn't quite as bad as everyone let on.

From a scheduling standpoint (UF/UT, i.e., tougher divisional games at home), we are primed for run in the SEC East next year.

Also, we trade Bama on the road for Ole Miss at home.

Not making any predictions, just saying on paper, that's how you would want the schedule to look for a strong returning team.

Not great by any means, but 6 of the 7 teams made bowl games, so it's not the pushover that ESPN has made it out to be this season.

Let's see how the SEC east teams fare in bowl games. IMO, this may not be the strongest year for the SEC e, but compare those teams to the entire field of College Football teams and I'd say each would be in the top 50% or better. I'd put Vandy against ANY #6 team in any division in ANY conference. It's all relative
