just some thoughts
We didn't score "too fast" in the first. Our defense was not great but it did make a few nice stops in the first half.

In the second half we didn't score fast enough. We were totally shut down. Why? What happened to the offense in the second half? Was it failure to adjust? Were we just being too conservative? Why did we look like a total disaster on offense.

Yes, the defense was terrible in the 2nd half, but if the offense simple got a couple quick scores or even a couple sustained drives and a couple scores, we win easily.

So, while it is obvious that the D was bad, (we were expecting that!), why couldn't we move the ball in the 2nd half, when we dominated on O in the first half?

The turnovers in the 2nd half are what got us beat.
Take away either the pick or the fumble by Barker, not both, just one and UK prevails.

I don't know why special teams isn't getting more of the blame. The blocked punt led to So. Miss's first seven then the botched field goal should have been three. That is a ten point swing in a nine point loss.

Barker gonna be turnover prone...lacks internal clock..so did pretty boy Towles...GET RID OF IT
uh no he's not. You're comparing a multi-year starter to a kid in his 3rd game. Barker had one INT and none of his other throws were even close to being dangerous. Towles had multiple throws every game that were almost picked off.

Only one other team in the entire country was on the field longer than UK's defense was in game 1. That's not a recipe for getting your offense going. And yes, we did score quickly several times. No long drives or 5,6,7 minute possessions to help out the defense.

Here is some observations I had.

Special teams looked much better. return game and kick coverage was really good. Missed field goal wasn't a coaching blunder as it was holder dropping the snap. That just a player not making a play and those happen. Blocked punt you can't let a guy get inside of the three up the middle.

We are missing a senior leader on both sides of the ball. In the past we have had someone step up and make a play. Defense is young. We don't have a stamps (pick against mizzu), Forrest to show leadership and make a play. Same on offense.

Barker reminds me a lot of Woodson his sophomore year. Ball security was where Andre struggled the most at. And looks to be barker right now. Hopefully he can grow out of it as he matures.

We are a very young football team across the board, need to find someone to show leadership. Talk all camp was barker and love were those guys. Only problem with hat is that they had three games total between them. They can't fall back on past experiences in big boy football.
