The dynamic from Nebraska fans is weird. Overall they don’t like Rhule but are somehow still ok that he’s staying.

Great timing for Rhule as he’s better off staying there.
They have struggled off and on for a number of years minus Pelini who was a loose cannon. He is well liked and respected and has gotten them bowl eligible 2 straight years after a long drought. He brings a measure of stability.

there is a whole list of guys getting raises to keep them.

I am not of the belief that PSU needs a guy with P5 or P4 (depending) head coaching experience.
The JMU coach, Chesney, is from PA and attended Dickinson. I'm beginning to think that he or somebody similar to him might be the new coach rather than a "big" name, unless it would be a Matt Campbell.

The restructured deal does not change Rhule’s base salary but does include salary escalators for College Football Playoff appearances.

So this shouldn't cost Nebraska a dime!
Used to think the same about Indiana. Vandy has been making a bit of noise as well. Not saying Rhule is worth a crap, but "experts" were of the opinion that we were the #2 program earlier this season.

Right now if I had to bet on it, my money would be on Nebby making the CFP before PS does.

One thing that has to be parsed, is Chesney's 1.5 season run because of Chesney or is it because of what Cignetti built at JMU during the five previous years?

Cignetti took 13 players and 6 assistant coaches with him to Indiana.
Or did Cignetti benefit from what Mike Houston built before him?
Dont worry. Kraft is on it .

LOL....McAndrew closed the thread, actually I did miss the insertion.
So, I posted my oversight here
"Good grief.
We are not using College Football Troll as a source.
I'm locking this thread -- total nonsense."

Ruhl could potentially lose out the season. The 2026 class is one of the worst in the B1G. Sandy must be pulling strings behind the scenes.

I cautioned folks a while ago that most of the big names you hear floating around are just going to be using this situation to get better terms from their Athletic Department. Most of the time, it's the agents of the coaches that are throwing the names out to the press.

I still think that when the dust settles and the next coach of PSU is announced, it's going to be a name that nobody has been thinking about or talking about.
