Most recruits weren't born or would be too young to remember when Pat and Noel played at WVU so not sure why he thinks their names would matter.
That's not how it works with recruiting. We hear it from recruits weekly so you would be wrong about that.

Let me know when Pat or Noel sign any 4 or 5 star recruits. On paper, current quality is average to subpar compared to the past. A coach who knows what he's doing is much more valuable than a name.
Former legends are extremely valuable when it comes to recruiting. It happens at Michigan often. Tom Brady and Charles Woodson are just two former players, and I know they've moved the needle when it comes to recruiting.
Changing your tune now. You made a comment that was incorrect and I pointed out that you were mistaken.
Look up Rich Rods 2002 class and what the “experts” thought. And then look at the players it produced. Rod knows what’s he’s doing.
No, I didn't change my tune. The facts are still the facts with regards to most recruits either not being born or being too young to remember who those guys were apart from being able to look them up on their phones like just about anything else in today's world. My point is that they're not going move the needle with regards to recruiting and that the money would be better spent on talented coaches who know what they're doing. I don't ever recall a recruit claiming that a past player was a deciding factor in their decision to attend a program. It would be a foolish thing to do anyway as a "legend" can't magically transfer their talent to a new recruit just because they go to the same school. Also, even if any of that would have mattered in the past, it's all about the $$$ in today's world.
Michigan being Michigan is what moves their needle. It is almost laughable to compare Tom Brady and Charles Woodson to Pat White and Noel Devine. The former Michigan stars had, long, productive NFL careers where they became household names. They excelled at the highest echelons of the sport and became legends. Pat White and Noel Devine are not even in the same realm. Michigan is a nationally respected blueblood program playing in one of the top two conferences while having multiple Heisman winners and multiple national championships. WVU has no Heisman winners and no national championships and plays in a second rate conference. That is not a good comparison.
Sounds like you do not like WVU for who they are. Go cheer for Michigan meat head.
