I don't see them as comparable because of the time difference but I do go rewatch a lot of Chappelle's Show bits. I watched the racial draft sketch during the half of the KC game.

Pryor has had a lot of years to marinate. In 30 years, you might see a shift. People that were alive with Pryor, unfortunately, will aging out. And by that time, who knows what else Chappelle will have done.

Pryor. Still pop my DVD of his Live from Long Beach every so often... the stuttering chinese waiter is classic. Never cared for Murphy's stand up, actually think it sucks compared to the great ones.

That IMO is the greatest stand up of all time. The pet monkey is the funniest skit in any show I’ve seen. Pryor was the GOAT imo

Pryor is more important and is "better" but I prefer Dave because standup typically doesn't age well.

Eddie Murphy, for example.

That rule doesn't apply to Carlin, which is why I think he's the best to ever do it.

Pryor made Chappelle, Murphy, Rock, etc. what they are. They're all amazing, but Pryor is the GOAT, with Carlin a close second. Pryor's stage presence, voices, and expressions were unmatched.

A Cool Story Bro moment:

My parents were in New York when John Lennon was killed.

They called me & told me the news BEFORE MNF/Howard.

They were at Tavern On The Green & Richard Pryor was there. He gave them a promo stick pin button of Stir Crazy. They were walking back to their hotel & noticed a big crowd/police presence. Found out JL was shot/killed.

They knew i was a big fan of both.

JL died 12-8-80

Stir Crazy premiered 12-12-80
