I've been hearing for a month or two that he is no longer donating to our program/RTC. Anybody know the details? Is he still funding the National Duals?

That Richison has stopped being a donor. He is very pro-Wrestling and approves of DT.
He is still involved and will be moving forward.
As I've said from day one, the program needs to get what it can from that pipeline as quickly as it can. At some point, someone is going to make him mad, and he will stop.
Yes, it is nice to have and I agree that a guy with his mentality could get cross with another person of similar mentality. However, he is on somewhat of a mission to return the state of Oklahoma to the top of the sport, so his barometer for BS may be a little higher than usual.
Also, we are doing really well raising money. Would it hurt, yes, any negative line item isn't good, but we're still pretty healthy! Also, he's all good right now, so it a moot point and it does need to stay that way.

So you know for a fact he has not stopped, cut back, or pulled out on anything to OSU or RTC? I hope I'm wrong and you're right, but I definitely have heard different. That would be great if he hasn't.
John has done a great job getting David and the donors together so fundraising should be/is good regardless of Richison. The success and spotlight have people excited.

It's awesome that you share a rumor and then when someone tells you it isn't true you ask if he knows for a fact.
You obviously didn't know for a fact when you started this rumor, but you want to hold him to that standard.
Not really, but I haven’t asked or anything. I’m just having fun enjoying the trajectory and ride.
When something pops up that could be damaging, I ask. If there’s stuff that’s desired to be put out, I’m told.
No inside info, but I would guess Markwayne Mullin is helping out. He is wealthy and also a tremendous fundraiser independent of his own donations.

Fundraising always needs work, but we are doing a good job…can always be more.

The reason the wrestling facility is not on the verge of opening is because the building boom in college athletics died with NIL. Most of the money that was previously going to build gleaming facilities to attract top recruits is now just going directly to the recruits. I am sure our coaches want a new facility but not near as much as they want a big NIL budget.
Didn't his wife who is an OSU Grad just help fund a huge chunk of NIL for the womens Basketball team?
Rev share also hurt that 21 million a year and rising has to come from somewhere as well. Many universities get that money from donations. The issue is now you're asking the SAME donors to cover Rev share , NIL and new facilities. And this isn't just a wrestling problem it's a problem for every sport besides Football and Basketball

Richison isn't going to stop giving as long as DT is at the helm, or he goes broke.
I tend to agree with Travis on this particular issue. NIL wins championships now with a lot less money. That is where I have contributed, but I do not contribute like Richison nor will I. He has been more that generous on what he has done for our program and wrestling. He needs others to step up to make it happen and has told Coach Taylor that.

Richison has a very long history of pulling his money from all kinds of things. Maybe DT can keep happy and in the fold but very few people over the years have been able to do it. But that is a tomorrow problem. Get what you can get while you can.
They are pretty tight, so I am inclined to agree with @vhsalum for now.

The most important thing is Richison is helping OSU at the moment and it has been a tremendous game changer to the DT era.
The guy eventually sours on everything. There is a long, long history there. Nothing with him is ever guaranteed. I like this relationship lasting longer than most because of his passion for wrestling. But still...
No, what I meant is he's not SUPER into it because he's a Billionaire and therefore if he was super passionate about it, he'd have already made sure it was done. It would be like if all of us were Billionaires - we'd have gold plated everythings! He's definitely a huge supporter, I'm just saying he doesn't live and die by it like we do. Something tells me that if chasepollard wins a giant PowerBall lottery we will be breaking ground the next day.
And my fundraising needs work comment is fueled by this - the most successful program in North American sports history has subpar, mediocre facilities at best. It's unfortunate.

I’ve been in a few and ours are not subpar or mediocre. Are they the best, nope. But there’s more to where money goes than the lockers and the the wrestling room.
These guys have a sweet setup and they Wrestle like it!

I only care about the facilities to the extent they are holding us back at NCAAs, and it doesn't seem like that is the case. If we win national titles, they can practice in a barn in DT's backyard for all I care.

...I would suggest any Mr. Richison prattle should be avoided. He has been most helpful and could resent idle disclaim in interpretation by near "know nothings" or their cousins. His path to more support or less belongs to him and his wife. Afterall could we not remember a singer whose disregard due to whatever reason by some or one at OSU caused participation withdrawal......................best to all.................rs

Then somewhere in the middle you moved the goal post to say he isn't funding a new wrestling center.
And in the thread you started about him not giving you ask if you said he was going to stop giving. This was a wild piece of passive aggressive victimhood.
