Disagree. Long overdue. He's survived a cheating/extortion scandal, stripers for recruits and now this. He had no chance to survive this, nor should he

Oh for sure! I totally agree! I was just quoting Dave Chappell.

Like a "pound me in the ***" federal prison?
It would be a naughty little white collar boys club. He might have to do a few weeks somewhere half assed tough until they put him up a place with no razor wire or guard towers. IF it gets that far he'll cop a plea and get a couple of years at a minimum security deal and end up spending 10 months playing cards and shooting hoops. Kind of like going back to shool without the beer and coeds.

Weird how he survived dropping his pants in a public restaurant and banging the waitress on the table, but getting caught doing something that everyone just accepts as business as usual was to much for the morality police I guess.

"These allegations come as a complete shock to me,” Pitino said in a statement. “If true, I agree with the U.S. Attorneys Office that these third-party schemes, initiated by a few bad actors, operated to commit a fraud on the impacted universities and their basketball programs, including the University of Louisville. Our fans and supporters deserve better and I am committed to taking whatever steps are needed to ensure those responsible are held accountable.”

Slimy MFer!! Why doesn't that corrupt garbage heap of a human being just off himself. He is completely incapable of doing anything in an honorable manner.

As a parent, how do you let your kids play for him?

Wouldn't want the stink of Pitino (too much baggage) but Tom Jurich would be interesting as an AD.Has a track record of hiring successful coaches.

When the FBI is involved and arresting coaches, I don't think morality is the reason he's getting fired. It's that he engaged in federal crimes

Didn't he hire Petrino and Pitino? He surely doesn't mind the win at all costs philosophy.

Do you think Petrino is getting nervous? The basketball program is under federal investigation, the AD just got fired, you know he isn't clean (Dez Fitzpatrick comes to mind). Jurich could easily squeal on Petrino for a lighter sentence if the FBI wanted to scorch the Earth.

When the NCAA investigates, everyone denies everything. Now that the FBI is involved and federal prison is a possibility, i'm guessing a lot of assistant coaches will be singing like a bird to save themselves. Would love to see Louisville and a couple of other chronic cheaters get the death penalty.

Is the Death Penalty still an option for the NCAA? They were extremely troubled doing it to SMU at the time and their program has yet to recover from it 30 years later.

Not fired apparently. "Unpaid Administrative Leave" pending the investigation, which honestly is probably smart considering (1) no Louisville coaches have been arrested or charged in the probe yet (the only evidence tying Louisville is the school disclosing that it effectively received a target letter); (2) there is no evidence (yet) publically disclosed in the investigation indicating that Pitino knew about any violations and (3) Pitino has a 10-day clause which prohibits firing without notice. Will he ultimately be fired? Probably.

The other interesting fact is that the announcement had to be made by the Interim President regarding the appointment of an Interim AD and Interim basketball coach who will have authority to hire interim assistants. I mean, yeah we have been through some turmoil over the last week but wow.....

I think it is funny that the FBI did this investigation without the NCAA knowing. It was almost like the FBI sat back and watched the abomination that is the NCAA and said they finally need to do something about it.

It comes as no surprise that this is happening and my guess is that we will hear more names, more companies(Nike, UA, etc) and more schools. A lot of people have had their heads buried in the sand if they didn't know this crap was going on. I read a media release from the SEC about them basically being shocked about what was going on and laughed. AAU is probably the most corrupt organization in sports today. The AAU coaches are slimeballs and only in it to grease their own pockets. College football is starting to become as dirty. The amount of players that have "handlers" is disturbing. Some of these 7 on 7 teams are becoming like AAU programs. These AAU and 7v7 coaches have more power over these kids than their high school coaches do.
