I have, and your "buddy" wasn't as talented Knevel. He's inexperienced and has plenty of room for improvement. But the kid has one of the highest ceilings on the roster. People need to sit back and realize Nebraska is 5-0 while kids like Knevel, Farmer, the Davis twin and Stoltenburg are learning on the fly.

Ceiling is wonderful. No idea what you are watching if you are lauding his production. Makes me really question if you know what you are looking for if that is the case.

I don't follow the Group Think path to absolutes that permeate this board. Too many people think a player is either great or terrible. There is often no in between. People watch a game and only notice when a player makes a mistake, or misses a tackle, or drops a pass, or gets beat one on one. And sadly, this place is unforgiving to the point it acts like a player who doesn't produce like an All American from day one will never be a productive player.

Knevel has been successful on something like 94% of his snaps. He's allowed 1 sack and 3 QB hurries. And somehow those mistakes have branded him as the weak link.

The tackles at Iowa, with multiple combined starts, have allowed 11 sacks this season.

Knevel is neither a bum nor an All American. He started the season as the second best tackle on the line, and that line has produced a decent result. I bet he's worked a lot harder at his job than nearly all of us. And he's doing it with a bum wheel.

You are absolutely right about the board being all or nothing. You are wrong about Mr. 94%.

I try to avoid talking bad about players on public forum. I don't know football as well as they do. I don't know what they have going on physically, or personally. I appreciate the work and sacrifice they put in. I also get that tackles are going to get noticed more than guards or centers.

But, it's still a football board. And, in my opinion, Knevel has had more obviously missed blocks or confused moments than his cohorts on the line. That being said, this is my favorite Nebraska line in years, so that's going to stand out more.

Sack numbers mean little. But, Nebraska has only given up three this year. A lot of that is Armstrong. He has avoided sacks that less mobile, or less savvy, QBs would have taken. Armstrong can see someone coming off the right, so it makes sense the right tackle would get beat for sacks less often. And Knevel is better in pass pro than running plays. A lot of it is that we have either been leading or within one touchdown in the fourth, so we have fewer obvious passing plays where Tommy feels he needs to hold on to make the play.

But, I agree it's not an all or nothing deal. He hasn't been awful, and once things get rolling for that kid, he could be truly dominating. I'm definitely routing for him.
