About to put Eliminator on. I saw a ZZ top in Dallas in 1986. 5th row right in front of the stack. The next day I had my first day at UTA and there was a loud ringing in my ears. they opened with "Under Pressure". Green lasers were striking the boys in the back as the held their guitar and bass. There was this giant slurping sound from this sunglassed sphinx sucking the tarp off the drum set and into its nose. Immediately starting with the thumping bass for Under Pressure. Badass. I was at the 3 of 4 sold out shows at Reunion Arena. There was some chick with a huge rack that was flashing us from behind the stage. Great tits!

Sure everybody has already heard this story about how a high school signed them to play for their prom I think it was? Maybe homecoming.. and then they have blew up in popularity before that date arrived.. and they decided to go ahead and do the show anyway and it was a huge deal

I think I remember that. We always had live bands and my senior prom was the last and then they went to do. Live bands were so fun.

We’re losing the greats who started in the 70s almost daily it seems. It says something about what they did when I still hear kids reference and play their music. I’ll hear a song on XM in my truck with the year listed and I just go damn that’s over 50 years old. Some of it maybe was the advancements in electronics but the music really holds up.
