For real though. That’s three hilarious guys and good friends all dying within months of each other. Can’t tell if that’s horrifying or sweet.

Loved Gottfied. Actually drove to Nashville to see him at Zanies. Hilarious. I'm a little shocked. Figured he be one of those guys who'd live to be 95. RIP
I always thought he was so underrated. Most people only knew him from his voice in movies and commercials, but he was always funny to me. Especially in roasts and on Howard Stern

Aflac Inc. has severed ties with comic Gilbert Gottfried, the longtime voice of the insurer’s duck mascot, after he made a series of crude jokes about the Japan earthquake and tsunami via Twitter.
“Gilbert’s recent comments about the crisis in Japan were lacking in humor and certainly do not represent the thoughts and feelings of anyone at Aflac,” Aflac Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Michael Zuna said in a statement Monday, reports TMZ. “There is no place for anything but compassion and concern during these difficult times.”
A “nationwide casting call” is now underway to find a new voice for its duck.
Aflac, which does 75 percent of its business in Japan, also plans to donate ¥100 million to disaster relief.
Gottfried has yet to apologize for the jokes, which included:
“I just split up with my girlfriend, but like the Japanese say, ‘They’ll be another one floating by any minute now.’”
Gottfried is no stranger to controversy.
Three weeks after 9/11, he made light of the tragedy at a Friars Club roast for Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, reports The New York Times.
He said that he had tried to catch a plane but couldn’t get a direct flight because “they said they have to stop off at the Empire State Building.” The joke prompted boos from the audience.

I love the fact that he did impressions of people so old, that today’s crowd knew nothing about. Groucho after the stroke was amazing. And then, I be damned if his Paul Lynde wasn’t the funniest impression of all time.

I saw him at Comedy Off Broadway several years ago. It was cool he still did the local clubs. He killed it. No pun intended.
I took a hot chick to some arena in White Plains in the late 80s to see Belinda Carlisle with Paul Carrack (Squeeze) opening. Paul Carrack had to cancel and was replaced by Gilbert Gottfried. Belinda was so so because she played mostly single stuff and not Go Go stuff. Gottfried annoyed me because I wanted to see Paul Carrack. The hot chick did not want to have sex with me. On the hole I will give it a thumbs down.
