Meatloaf in a smoker is the bomb

I have never had that before. I would try it, but I am not a fan of a smoker outside of brisket, ribs, and maybe pulled pork. I do think smoked brisket is excellent, but the rest, eh.

I had a smoker once, and even when I had stuff from a "good place," I could not develop a liking for the flavor.

What is the best wood for Meatloaf?

If you don't like a strong smoke taste I would go with apple or cherry but if you like a stronger smoke then Hickory or mesquite. Mesquite can be good but if you aren't careful you can get a bitter taste from it.
