I saw him live in 2014. He spent way too much time talking to the crowd and not enough time playing music. That concert also featured The Edgar Winter Group, and Johnny Winter. Derringer spent lots of time in both of those groups, both on tour and playing on their records.

I found it interesting that Derringer recorded “Hang On Sloopy” with The McCoys when he was just 17 years old.

This was quite a hit many years ago when I was a teenager..
