I saw an awards show years ago were the Fugees were doing their version of Killing Me Softly, which I hate because it’s almost an exact replica (adding “one time” and “two times”). Then Flack came out to sing it with them and blew Hill’s vocals away. Great voice.

Can remember as a child our family driving through the night from PA to FL on vacation. Back them there were about 3 stations on the air after 11pm. Driving through the Carolina's at 3-4 am hearing the song "Closer I get to you... " with Donny Hathaway about 500 times in a few hour period as the stations back then were top 20 hits and they would just loop the top 20 songs all night long. She had a beautiful voice and was an amazing person. Didn't realize she was 88 that is a great run. May she rest in peace.

Loved her songs. Never knew Killing Me Softly was written (not by her) about Don Mclean by the original author until recently. I suspect the song Vincent (as well as a few others) had a lot to do with it.
