I remember about the time of his 3rd Shaft movie (Shaft in Africa) in 1973, a couple actors performed a comedy skit on some variety show,

Woman: "I just returned from watching "Shaft in Nebraska". Never seen so much violence and destruction in any movie. Shaft was mad"

Man: "Really? I wonder why he was so angry?"

Woman: "If they stuck you out in Nebraska, you'd be mad too."

Wish I could locate an old video.
