We've discussed it on the Blue Lot and I didn't even want to put it here because we have a clown or two who have to be jerks every time his name is mentioned. John was actually a really nice guy and absolutely loved the Mountaineers.

I remember John from when I lived in Dayton and enjoyed reading his columns then. When I found out he was CFE on this board, I always looked forward to his posts. He was a true and faithful Mountaineer. I will miss his perspective and insights on WVU athletics. RIP CFE and may God bless and keep you and your family.

That list of "survived by" is what this man can beat his chest about. Sports writing career and portfolios mean so little in comparison.

Damn, liked reading his posts. Will never forget him telling how he attended his first WVU football game in 1938. Had to be as far back as anyone who’s ever been a member here. One of the posters I’m really gonna miss. RIP, Cuyahoga
