Saw him in concert about 10 years ago - what a show. Pretty sure he was stoned throughout but the music was very crisp and, of course, that distinctive singing voice. He played two encores. He made his mark, RIP.

Sad news. Also sad that I never had the privilege of seeing him play live. Got lots of wonderful boots. Think I'll fire one up tonight.

So, he's had a heart attack, is in critical condition and hasn't died... yet. Let's see if he makes it through the night.

I saw a headline on Yahoo that says he died and right next to it was another story about Petty's daughter calling out Rolling Stone for saying he died when he didn't.

I seriously recommend watching the TP documentary on Netflix. It is 4 hours long and very entertaining. So many great songs.
