Matt Jones opens up by calling QAnon people kooks.

Said McConnell will vote to impeach Trump. Katie Couric agreed. Maher didn’t. Jones challenged Maher to a bet but then realized Maher has a lot more money. Interesting start. Jones is nervous.

They talked about why Trump is popular.

Jones said Trump is popular in rural Kentucky because he has credibility that no other politician has. Bill Maher called that ********. Jones said he agrees Trump shouldn’t have that credibility. Kind of stopped there.

Maher said Biden is frail. Couric disagreed. Jones said Biden is amazingly resilient and the only Democratic politician who would’ve won. Maher cut off Jones there.

Jones isn’t laying back. Being loud, as the show probably wants him to be. Maher doesn’t know how to approach.

Maher read a children’s book called “Pack Your **** and Go.” Not that funny. Bill Maher really isn’t very funny.

Couric said their should be guard rails on presidential power. Supports impeachment. Matt Jones said Trump was wimpy and has to be impeached. Said Republicans want to impeach him so he’s not a threat in the future. Couric said it’s inconvenient for Biden but they have to do to. Couric says she wonders if Trump will actually be happy being center of attention in another impeachment.

Couric supports the Twitter bans. Jones said he thinks it’s dangerous. Matt Jones taking with Couric on Bill Maher is kind of surreal. Maher pushing back on Couric’s stance, siding with Jones. Couric admits she really doesn’t know answer but she’s trying to think out loud. Doesn’t make that much sense, but is cynical about social media. No one has answers.

Jones said corporate America has turned on Trump and he will have problem getting message out. Maher thinks Trump will still have influence. Audience applauded Jones.

Jones getting loose. Tells Katie Couric no one would watch a Trump news network. Jones says more people watch WWE Raw than NewsMax. Maher thought Raw was a porn. Jones said he needs to learn about Raw.

They talk about Mitt Romney. Jones says only liberals like them Romney and thinks Nikki Haley will run for president. Couric says Haley never challenged Trump and suburban women will be turned off.

Maher said it will be hard to ever not mention Trump in his monologue and Jones is ranting.

And that’s a wrap.

He probably won’t be on again
Agent must’ve done a hell of a job pulling it off. He probably has too much of a local angle to be a regular guest. National media doesn’t care what’s going on in Kentucky, but that’s Jones niche.

Very impressive Jones made it on Maher's show as that is about as big time as it gets and Maher is probably right up there with Jon Stewart in debate prowess. I haven't watched it yet but I will later tonight. I didn't realize Bill's new season had already started but I watch them on demand all the time. Maher is not classic liberalism, he's got a strong lean into libertarianism and he's a big anti vaxxer that hates nothing more than he does political correctness and cancer culture.

Stepped into a repeater station he did -

its like in Fahrenheit 451 where theres a character extremely exited and proud / fawned over because she was chosen to go on a live broadcast and say a little something.....

but because people had been socially engineered and coerced into avoiding direct conversations - and old ideas that conveyed structures and meaning we’re lost .....

her big moment on the broadcast showed her nodding blankly to a consider and then saying something banal and safe like “I like it too...”

Get it ?

That was an amazing book -

I watched it. He did okay as far as presentation, but he didn't really have any original talking points. He was mostly just saying what you can hear on CNN or MSNBC.

I agree with your take on Mahr. He's more of an old school Democrat that hates Trump and most Republicans, but equally gives **** to the far left woke crowd.

I like him, but I don't agree with his takes on religion.

Just finished watching the show and for everyone reading my take, I am the last person on earth to ever confuse with a Jonesling suckup.

Jones was comfortable and he looked good plus I think Bill liked him. I can tell when Bill clearly doesn't like somebody and just by how much he let Matt talk uninterrupted was telling. If anything comes up with Mitch McConnell, then Matt has a good chance of being back on the show.

Now, for the things Matt gets wrong. Stop saying "I THINK" all the time. Makes you look pompous and of course you think it otherwise you wouldn't be saying it and it makes serious people roll their eyes the minute it comes out of your mouth.

Stop raising your head skywards slightly while simultaneously expanded your hands outwards in a circular motion in a reverse Trump move because nothing makes a person think "here comes something long winded" than that expression and hand gestures do. If you have to do that then at least bring your hands inwards like Trump does instead of expanding out like you're overcome with giant flatulence.

Slow down your speech, control your eyes by looking at who you are engaging. Your worst moments were when you were preaching to the camera and your best moments were when you were engaging Bill and Katie directly.

Finally, Jones is a legitimate TV personality. He is marginally talented but we can't be sure of how talented he is until he relaxes enough to not feel the need to suckup or be mealy mouthed in his opinions which at times tonight were too superficial and he got called on that by both Bill and Katie. Whatever you believe in then let if fly and live with the results as that's the only way to survive in the game he obviously wants to play.

Couric's reaction when Mayer started to make fun of how Biden has attracted so much tragedy in his life was a rare moment of decency on television. Even if the volume was turned down you could see it in her eyes. That's what we've come to. Whenever someone exhibits basic human decency it is almost startling. Like seeing Bigfoot it is so rare.

The next time Bill Maher features a guest who has his or her finger on the pulse of Kentucky, I'd like to see Dr. James Klotter or Dr. Thomas Appleton. Big difference between them and Matt Jones.

Joe Biden has made a career out of his family tragedy.

great for UK.

How? Is the university going to see an uptick in donations now? Are recruits going to be impressed by our representative betacuck being on a show that they will never watch?

You could easily argue that it is bad for UK because Matt Jones is polarizing and more likely to create disinterest by association.

Good for Matt. He held his own with two polished TV personalities who do this stuff regularly. I can imagine the nerves of being in that situation. I can’t hate on the guy for being able to achieve this accomplishment.
