Your team leads the state in consecutive championships with 7. This leads those holding 4 straight which includes the Hampton Crabbers, Highland Springs Springers and Phoebus Phantoms. This accomplishment is great. Your team beat the teams that were put in front of it. I am sometimes amazed that there are those that forget just how good the teams are in A and AA. These teams have produced NFL stars. In 1988 the 1987 defending AA champion Tabb Tigers played what would be the 1988 D6/AAA champion Hampton Crabbers. At one point the Tigers were leading 10-0 and would go on to shock the Crabbers 10-7. So while nearly 40 years have passed since I can tell you that when this happened it was huge. I want to wish your team all the luck in the world in stepping up in class to face a new batch of opponents as the Gladiators continue to set a new standard in Virginia high school football. Congratulations on all of the Gladiators accomplishments.
