I watched him express his thoughts after Saturday's disaster, and the one thing he said that was obvious about this year's team is that they have no player leadership. He talked about his time playing with Steve Taneyhill and how he had real leadership. He made players believe they were going to win, and he said that type player just doesn't exist on this year's football team.

He is right, but that is the case these days. Kids don't want to step up and be leaders. There are fewer in the sports world these days with some kids just berating teammates thinking they are leading. I fought that battle for years as a youth baseball coach. Beamer is too much of a cheerleader and they may think he is all they need. To me it's a lost art.

There were leadership on last years squad. There are still kids out there who have leadership ability. Sellers has shown confidence but he seems more apathetic than last year. Maybe the money and hype got to his head a little bit.

Boaz Stanley also seems to display leadership but he’s not that good and it doesn’t seem like the offense is with him.
