Technically 95.9 is Robbinsville, but it has just been syndicated national stuff with 102.7 Murphy's news for years now.
You must not get out of the mountains alot if you think Elkin kids are thugs...
They had 2 ejected..and several unsportsmanlike..ask anyone who was there.. also unsportsmanlike on coach..very dirty bunch
Hardly the definition of thugs. I can assure you that doesn't happen often at Elkin.
Ok.ill rephrase..a bunch of beat down,out classed , out coached,out played, frustrated, cry baby,major defeated, spoiled soft brats.(thugs)
I don’t know about the thugs part but the crowd was pretty bad. Calling for a flag every time a kid made a decent tackle.
You guys need to go back to counting students......
That's almost any fanbase these days sadly. Fans just show up to yell at the refs it feels like.
My take from tonight’s game. If we dont clean it up a bunch next week will end our season. Period!!!!! I know we are a little rusty but thats 7 weeks in a row we’ve jumped off sides on 3rd and short while on defense ( watch the dang ball on defense) you learn that in youth ball. We’re really soft on defense and no our j v s didn’t play the entire 4 th quarter , we put subs in with 5 min remaining. Disappointed to say the least.

It's doesn't happen because they don't play in the SMC..they got hit tonight...Hard.
Glad belittling teenagers makes you feel like a man then. There is a way to address the issue without resorting to calling the kids thugs. Kids that are great kids that you know nothing about.
Yeah we played pretty rusty..Our best linebacker went out in 3rd qrt and our best defensive lineman got injured start of 4th. Elkin scored twice in the 4th on our reserves. We were also missing starting offensive lineman. What worries me the most is we can't stop a running QB.. Haven't all year..Thomas Jeffersons QB is one of the best in the state.

Your right I know nothing about them but the entire stadium seen how dirty they played
We know how to count, it's murphy that counts their students then subtracts enough to play in the kiddy pool, running from schools their size.
Elkin played chippy one kid come from the sideline and hit a player on the field so he was ejected then had their other player grab a kid by the face mask and throw 3 haymakers and he was ejected. IMO the refs were way to involved in this game,.... and yes we played decent at times but most of the time was undisciplined football and that kind of football will get you beat in the playoffs.
Hard to complain much about our team when Anderson rushes for his highest total all year and when Hooper has his biggest night of the year also. Pretty good when we play this bad and it was 41-14 going into the 4th qrt.

We could run at will, but it seemed to me Dee wanted to work on our passing game
Mental mistakes still plague our young team. Having 3 weeks off can cause little issues to resurface no matter preparation. We definitely played not up to par but the game never seemed like it was swaying to Elkin. In fact it should have been 27-6 before half. Elkin went for FG and we ran into the kicker which moved them within the 10. They had an untimed down and scored. From there we dominated the 2nd half and put it away. We didn’t punt until the 4th.
As far as the roughness of the game I didn’t see anything that was overtly dramatic. There were a few individuals who I think allowed frustration to get the best of them. I was proud in a few instances of our players ability to not feed into it because we controlled the game and there is no need to lose oneself and get kicked of a game that was in hand. I saw players on both sides helping each other up and patting each other. So for the most part the teams played respectful but like they say, one bad apple....
Glad our Knights came away with the W and we survive another week.
