My son got hurt diving for ground balls in an indoor facility (basically concrete because his asst coach was just not bright). Was classified as a sprain but it was a TFCC injury. He said it was extremely painful to the point he couldn’t grip a bat. Took 4 or 5 weeks to get cleared to start practice and then a couple more weeks after that to play so he redshirted as the baseball season is so compressed. He said he would hold his wrist like JR was because of the pain.

I so hope Robinson’s isn’t a TFCC injury.

This injury ended Joe Burrow's career.

Lol, sure, guess we'll lose to LSU too. God ,some of you are redic
And some haven’t played competitively and are very casual fans, which there’s nothing wrong with. It’s just they don’t really understand the game very well or understand the narrow margins between winning and losing involved in high major CBB. But not us, right?

There is a difference between saying you slant negative and saying you aren’t a fan for what it’s worth. I definitely don’t see you as anti-UK, just a notorious pessimist.
I can take that, cal burnt me, he is the only UK coach I have ever really known. I have been told I’m not a fan before and some call me a uofl troll. But yeah I’m all UK, I wouldn’t post on here as much as I do if I weren’t.

With all the injuries if they can get to 20-11 somehow we would have to consider that a win

No SEC win is a safe win. UK will be lucky to go 2-3 in the next 5 games, if they miss all of them.

Likely, if they are shut down until the SEC-T, that's 3-4 at the very best. Possibly 2-5.

Anything lower than a 4-seed is really disappointing considering their resume.

Even with injuries you need to get Vandy and LSU at home and at least split Texas and OU. That puts you at 20-11 win 1 sec game maybe 21-12 and a 5 seed or so. That's nothing to sneeze at

You’ll never hear me say that to you. You by far are not the worst. I suspect with time you will just get used to winning and winning and winning until you’re sick of winning. Scratch that, I never get sick of winning. 😜

This is exactly how I am looking at it right now. My best case scenario would be to get Jax and butler back for the Oklahoma game

I’m not used to a coach who actually draws and schemes up offense and defense. I’m used to finding a freak athlete and clear out one side and iso ball.

You probably have trouble buying into the idea of winning without the most talent. The good news is the talent is only gonna get better with Pope and the tactician will be cooking. Don’t let fear of failure ruin the joy of what you are watching. We are witnessing something special in the making.

Would assume CT or MRI would show if there was a tear of some sort.
It should. The school (coach and trainer) would not send my son for one. They did an X-ray to confirm no break but said no reason for the MRI because treatment is the same—which was ********. There could be severe enough damage to warrant surgery. My son is not at a P5 school, so it was nothing but a budget item. My son transferred away from that situation and is happier.

His girlfriend is a Mid-Major D1 swimmer and she hurt her wrist lifting weights. Same thing—hesitant to pay for the MRI.

I highly doubt UK handles it that way. I thought Pope originally said there was an MRI and it was promising. But if it is a TFCC injury hopefully it only requires rehab and not surgery. My son is fine now after rehab.

Agree, I’m honestly excited to see what Perry and Noah can turn into. Garrisson to me has all SEC potential is he can start rebounding.

I think in Robinson case it’s probably gonna be a pain management thing. It would be a lot better if it was his left hand and not his shooting hand

Have no idea what happened in the SCAR game, but here is the bottom line...Robinson went to the bench holding his wrist in clear pain later in the second half.

UK builds a 20 pt lead, the game is clearly out of reach. And what does Pope do? He brings Robinson back into the game.

We can throw all the flowers we would like to at Pope, and deservedly so. But that move borderlines on insanity and is a fireable offense.

Before everyone goes nuts, I am not saying Pope should be. But I am saying if Barnhart came out after the game and said Pope was gone because of that decision, I would 100% understand.
Nah.

I’m really hoping for him and us it is just some other type of sprain. Otherwise, the recommendation for non surgery is immobilization of the wrist for 3-4 weeks.
I asked my friend who works at Kort and a physical therapist about it, and she said there’s a tape job they can do that basically makes the movement of the wrist hard and it’s just sitting, but he would have to play through pain.

Well folks, like the man said there's a lot to consider. If these guys want to be pro anyplace they have to think about stuff like surgery and recovery time. They came here as upperclassmen and super seniors to improve their chance at a further career, not end it.

He needs to be the one in the gym after practice putting up 200-300 shots a day. If he could just shoot at 35% from 3, he could be a solid contributor. More athletic than Noah or Perry but just can't contribute offensively
My daughter went to a shooting clinic put on by Travis Ford after his senior year. He told the kids that he took 1,000 threes a day with a rebounder helping him.

Aaron Gershon reported that Pope said Robinson did not make the wrist worse by playing against SC.
This can’t possibly be true because mcnicKY91 assured us it got worse because Pope played him. In fact he was so sure of it he said it was a fireable offense.

His exact words were “Have no idea what happened in the SCAR game” — oh wait, never mind. He did in fact have no clue what he was talking about.

If their out for those 4 games then man it’s just puts way to much stress on all these young guys. I don’t see how we could expect to win any of these upcoming games with the backcourt out. Maybe vandy at home, you grind it out.
I think vandy could be the most difficult game without our back court

So UK builds a 20 point lead with a lineup Pope felt comfortable with at that time and you’d be fine with his termination?

Nope. It is 100% a fireable offense to bring a clearly injured (not hurt) player off the bench, fully knowing they are injured, with a 20 point lead late in the second half against freaking SCAR.

A move of absolute stupidity on Pope's part. Needs to be held accountable for it. But of course no one in the Lexington media would dare ask him why he was brought back in the game.
This is 100% flame bait or your under the age of 10. If the medical staff and Jaxson say he is good to go, you have to Be a f’ing idiot to want the coach fired for trusting them.

I lost a lot of respect for Buzz Williams for what they did to Butler. Thug ball cost him his final college basketball season. At least to be at his best for it

100% reactionary and stupid.

Who are you going to hire with that sort of ready, fire, aim brand of micromanagement of game decisions?
