125 Volk just lost to OSU 3rd stringer. Hopefully we'll see Dean lineup this week. 3-0
133 Davino destroyed 38 year old Chris Cannon. Drake might get the night off here but if not should get the W. 6-0
141 Bailey V Baumbaur is a big match for seeding at BTT and NCAA. 6-3
149 Block has rebounded nicely from his poor match against WI. Hopefully he keeps it rolling. 9-3
157 Another potential important match for March seeds...so expect VV. 12-3
165 Mikey is always must-see! 16-3
174 PK should be solid here. 20-3
184 Gabe will have the task of keeping it close with suddenly inoffensive Max Mac. 20-6
197 Wouldn't mind seeing Lud here to see if he shows something more. If so, close match. If not loss. 20-9
HWT Feels like BK is battling injuries (or something). If the dual is in hand wouldn't hurt to see him sit. 20-12

What are you talking about? Why in God's name would you forfeit 184 ( and give up a guaranteed 6 points) to bump Gabe to 197?
Because you likely lose 184 anyway and the Hawks aren't winning 197 with either Lud or Sampson.
So you lose at least 8 points with Gabe losing by decision at 184 and Sampson losing by major/tech.
My way, you lose 6 at 184 and Gabe wins by decision at 197.
That's a 5 pt swing in the dual.

That is saying Gabe wins at 197. If he loses at 197 it is -9 points net.
If Gabe loses at 184 and Lud gets majored (highly doubt) that is -7 (-6 for just a loss) or a wash if Harvey or Gabe wins. A forfeit at 184 locks in a minimum plus 3 point swing in the Gophers favor. I can't get behind that option.
Gopher 197 is not very good. GA won't have any problem, but both of the current options at 197 will be big underdogs.
If Iowa can win either 125/141/157, might not even be a consideration.

Iowa can blow the Gophers completely out of win a fairly close dual. I can't find the path to victory for Minn. if Iowa has the lineup in tact. I really hope Dean doesn't have a significant injury as he is seldom competing. I also think if Angelo is back Gabe will win at 197 if they go that route. Gabe has really looked good lately and seems like he is enjoying the challenges. This team was going to pack it in or get tough after that PSU beat down and we got our answer Friday night. Brands has these guys going down swinging. It doesn't change my views on whether they should lead this program in the future, but it does prove they can get the best efforts out of the team when the chips are down. I never doubted they were better coaches than Manning or Eggum.

TBH, really haven't seen much of him at all in Carver since the blown sideline takedown of Lugo against Ohio State. Maybe he was involved in that Kem-Star debacle or maybe I'm trying to blame him for all the bad calls.

Still early but on IA Wrestle probables listed are Cruz or Peterson, Gabe at 184 against McEnally, and of course Ludington or Brody. Im good with Gabe wrestling, the Angelo vs Mcenally we will see at BTs in semis if Welsh continues undefeated and 1 seed. Hoping there is no big concerns with Peterson but must be injured, not just resting at this point. Would be great to see Ludington in this one but likely wont need him. BK and Hopke is going to be big for seeding.
