Possibly for the same reason many of us would love to get back to West Virginia. Regardless of where you are, and regardless of who you are, those country roads call you home.
If Rich ever did come back to wvu then it would have been by his own choice. It would show that he wants to make things right
You do know the Blue Ridge mountains and Shanandoah valley are in the Western part of Virginia, right? Still love WVU even if not the State.

You sound like someone who lives in a single wide, and RR is starting to sound like Bob Pruett - turning down all kinds of imaginary job offers. For goodness sakes, he is a 6-6 Arizona coach. WVU doesn't want him, South Carolina doesn't want him, and IMO he is stuck in the desert for his remaining coaching years.
He's not bob pruett. For college football, the DICK is the Houston Nutt of this era. Nutt turned down more jobs then he never had a chance at then any coach in the industry. I remember he turned down LSU while at Arkansas when his record was 4-7 or 3-8.

Let me tell you how to get RR back to WV. Throw money at him! It ain't nothing about the country roads, Blue Ridge Mountains or the Shenandoah River. Rich is seeking a place that gives the 'life is good there' feeling..............................that only $$$$ provides!
Ignorance on this topic as usual from this board. If we can get RR back, we take him back, all of you jilted little girls will be at our home opener with bells on if it ever happens. He has brought two programs to some of their highest peaks in their histories (best 4 year run in WVU history, only the 2nd ever 10 win season in Arizona history), we will not get anyone close to that type of resume to come here. The alternative is to take a coach with a Holgorsen type resume, sure it could pan out but if it does the guy probably leaves, and then theres the chance its a disaster, we end up hiring a Kragthorpe spending the next 4 years in free fall and trying to clean up the mess.
