No. 56 in the TOS Top 247. Jones finishes at 170. Interestingly, TOS’s numerical rating was the same from 133 well down past Jones. Translated, nobody knows for sure where to rank or how to distinguish among a large number of prospects. But looking where that group is headed suggests they are all good to very good prospects.

No mention of Boo. But still a strong class on the heels of a very poor season.

Can't get out of my head that Collins is going to go with small, athletic lineup from here forward....

Nance
Beran
AJ
Bouie
Gaines

Kopp doesn't want for playing time...he'll be 25+ minutes

Can't get it into my head that Nance will be asked to play the post. I have to hang on to the hope that our true post pups make that a moot issue.

I actually think Gaines could do a good impression of Draymond Green defending bigger players, but he's also our best perimeter defender. And with the rest of the lineup, you'd have to have a dominant big man to contest all the drives opponents will get.

The word I hear from our friend, the VERY good source, is that the coaching staff expected two of the three recruits to be day-one starters. And that was before Falzon, Benson and Ash left.

I think I remember correctly that the second starter in addition to Beran was Jones, but I'm not sure about that.

So I'm thinking:

Jones
Beran
Kopp/Nance - flip a coin at this moment
Gaines
Aaaaaand, the lead guard ... Yea ... well, um ... you see ... riiiight ... I really hope Bouie stands out or AJ and Greer improve drastically. Maybe a grad transfer?

Considering I've never seen three of these guys play at this level, ask me the week before Thanksgiving.

While the top 50-75 are easy to separate, it is likely that the next 150-200 are close enough that it is pretty difficult

As of the end of last year, I'd start Turner over either Kopp or Nance. Obviously, they could make a leap, but AJ really looked good once fully healthy.

AJ did play well at the end of last season and he'll be needed to provide offensive leadership this new season.

Which means we have our first "easy to separate" guy in the history of the 247 rankings! Second place is Kopp at #86...
