Yes, Ed Dechellis was always a thorn in our side, even when our teams were better, it’s nice to have the other thorn in our side coaching next to Collins.

I think I buy the "I'd rather play PSU in downtown Chicago than Illinois" argument, although a rubber game for the NU-Illinois season series would also be very exciting.

Best two things that can happen in the conference tournament are (1) Win the whole thing and (2) win enough games to improve NCAA seeding.

Beating Illinois (versus PSU) doesn’t move the needle much on objective # 2. But PSU is a better option for objective #1, so that’s the rooting interest.
