If the tigers defense play the whole game like they did the 2nd half of brevard game. I think we will win by 14.

Madison always plays real physical as do you're cougars nothing we are not use to playing against! The SMC is always very physical
Tigers are geared up for tonight! A lot of conversation among veteran players this week, sick of losing and ready for W's. It's been a while since these young men won a ball game and they are HUNGRY!
They are focused and are demanding excellence among teammates. I believe that the Tigers will show the fans tonight how the hard work has paid off!

The kids are definitely fired up! Ready for some Tiger Football tonight! It's going to be a cool, wet night.
Even though we got another loss, the Tigers showed up and played some football tonight. I have to say if the team that showed up tonight would have showed up against East and Brevard, we would be 2-1 right now.

Since I've been watching football, with the exception of maybe 2009 I've never scene a lack of spirit or effort from a Rosman team, they aren't always the the biggest or most intimidating but they always play with heart, even last years lopsided game with Heritage I never seen one player giving up on a play, the year before when they had some talent they could have beat a very good Heritage team, I think there is always a positive mindset in the fans and the players, good luck to Rosman next week against Heritage, I'm looking forward to a great atmosphere and a hard nosed team.
Tiger offense is putting points on the board this year, but the defense is having trouble stopping the other team, which was the case last night....The game did produce quite a few "New" Tiger records such as: The most points that a Madison County team has ever scored against the Tigers...The most points ever scored against a Rosman team came back in 1974 when the Streater brothers and 2A Sylva-Webster came to Rosman, and beat the Tigers 73-0 .The scrimmage against Smoky Mountain earlier this year, is the first time that I can remember a Rosman Varsity Football team competing against a team from Sylva since that 73' season because many felt back then that Babe Howell intentionally ran up the score that night against the Tigers, so NO real effort had been made since that time to schedule the Smoky Mountain Mustangs with the exception of this season's scrimmage....Moving on, last night was also the most points ever scored by a Tiger team in a losing effort...As for the 112 Total points, it was the 2nd most ever scored in a game involving the Tigers best I can find....The most combined points scored in a game came in 2012 when Rosman beat Rabun Gap Georgia 69-49....Tigers are banged-up for sure, and are missing several key defensive players, but have to agree with cougars45 that this team still has a lot of spirit, and seemingly don't have any quit in them regardless of the score, and that's something that you can't teach, and it's certainly something to build on since this is such a young team...Congrats and good luck to the Patriots!.

Great post Tigertown. Man it seems like injury's everyear bite us. The life of a true small 1a. Proud of the team. I do see improvement each week. I wish we could have got Coach Stack in here sooner.

All offense no D. Tigers are pretty banged up. But boy was offense clicking. Compared to last year I think we have already scored more this year.lol This team is a lot of fun to watch never give up. Learning a lot of new things. My grandson comes home everyday so excited, which is a plus. I hope our fans keep supporting and stop talking down to the kids. Never should a fan speak to kids. I would like that fan to come say what he said to my grandkids Mom. Boy was she mad. I hope she don't find out which fan it was.lol. We have to remember these are kids playing. Mistakes will be made. You can't change bad habits overnight. Let the kids keep working and fans just support.
Great words Tiger den! I totally agree with you. Great things are coming for this team! They are extremely motivated despite the losses. It's unfortunate to have a "fan" talking smack to our own players but it is what it is! Hopefully our kids will use that one "fan"'s comments and use it as motivation to prove him wrong!
Agree. Motivation is the key. I laughed when my grandson told me what was said. However my daughter-in-law didn't think so. Neither did the rest of the Mom's. When I was leaving I know some mom's we're trying to find out who had said it. Like I said earlier you shouldn't be yelling at the kids like that. It's not helpful. Especially after the way last year went. If I could tell that fan one thing it would be this a lot of those kids you are calling "soft" have "hard" Mom's that you don't want to mess with.lol.

That "one fan" didn't say anything inappropriate and they didn't single anyone out. One player decided to respond angrily. And they weren't the only fan yelling their frustrations with the defense at the field. Stop singling out the one fan and move on. Don't understand why people have to keep beating a dead horse and get so defensive about everything.
Unfortunately that kid responded because what was said was wrong. Those kids work hard while people like that one fan lives in the glory days. Have you asked those kids how if felt? I have. I spoke to about 9 of those kids. Obviously you know that one fan. I understand you want to defend your friend, but remember it's those kids out there fighting and that is not the kind of support needed. Sure I was mad about our D but what does it prove yelling at kids. I'm not mad at the one fan I laughed, as I said earlier. But those kids I talked to didn't like it.Only 1 responded but all the rest had his back.
All I can say is those I've talked to about it have laughed it off. I think people are singling out one person and blowing the whole thing out of proportion. Time for everyone to put their big girl panties on and move on. We've got bigger things to worry about, like Mountain Heritage Friday night.
What do they have to be mad about? That someone stated the fact that our defense needs some work? And by the way, they weren't the only one on the fence voicing their opinion. People are just singling out this one person. Mines not mad. He's been playing long enough that I guess he knows how to laugh it off or ignore it. I guess I'm also one of those parents that doesn't get bent out of shape about such trivial things.
That's not quite what was said but that's ok keep defending your friend I understand. Like I said in the other thread. The kids are mad, have a little chip on their shoulder from last year. If your son played last year on varsity he would understand. Nobody is trying to single out your friend he did that all by himself. I know who he is so I could if I wanted. I also know who he is on here.
Like tiger town said we all have said things in the heat of the games we regret. I am the one that said guys are playing soft I regret saying this and I apologize to a our players coaches parents and fans ! i am truly sorry for this !! I wish our team nothing but the best this season
Now that's how you step up. Like I said earlier I don't think you said it malicious. That's what I told my daughter-in-law, give her week to calm down you know how women can be about their babies.lol Now let's get back to supporting some Tigers. Cause that's what it's all about. Good job 96 Tiger.
