We aren't rebuilding chill out
So you don't see this roster as rebuilding? There is nothing wrong with the term rebuild. Its more about a player(Duval) wanting to be a part of that process.

Not at all. I see a superstar for his senior year with a center that's going to explode and another post player coming in that will dominate. I also see multiple players that can man the three that can be fantastic and soon to be one of the best pg in the country coming in

The only 'for sures' are Grayson and Bolden, everything else is up for debate. This is a rebuilding year and there is no shame in that.
Remember that when we're in the final

Don't know what's up with Duval really don't think any one does at this point.
We got a good core the questions will remain until the ball hits the court in November
I guess that means we continue to own Roy.I predict if Duval comes we will be a better TEAM than last year.
I doubt that. Duval would have been the starting pg reguardless of Jackson coming back or not.He was most likely waiting to see what Frank Jackson was going to do. With Jackson gone there is a 98% we land Duval.

I agree but without Frank we are really really really young. Hopefully we will be injury free but you have to assume one or two guys get hurt; it's just the way the cookie crumbles. And hopefully they will be minor injuries. Good luck to Frank; I will miss you but your stock seemed to be rising. I'm assuming we get Duval and Tucker. So that gives us Duval, Allen, Trent, Carter, Bolden. Young but super talented. I like that a lot. First guy off the bench Delaurier, then Jack, then Vrank and O'Connell or Jordan or maybe Tucker if we get him. That's a nice team, sweet 16 as a baseline. Lots of talent but I understand the trepidation about the inexperience. But it will be fun watching this team mature. Go Duke! That seems to be the consensus and I take issue with it. I'm not saying next year's team will certainly be a national contender but to call it a rebuilding year at this juncture is just sour grapes from last year's team. We have no idea what next year's team will be but one thing is for sure it will be loaded with talent. We may have a top tier point guard. We have a 4th year player who was pegged to be an all American going into last year and should be considered same this year. We have a second year big man who was a 5 star recruit who has a year in the Duke system and a lot to prove. We have a crop of incoming talent that is a top 5 class. We have bench players that people were crying about getting more time all last year. Javin and Vrank and Jack all could play productive minutes.
People complain that they don't want our entire team based on one and dones and then the moment our roster isn't entirely full of them it is all of a sudden a rebuilding year. People need to stop discounting our potential for next year because last year's team under produced or we lost some guys we thought would be still around. Get over it we still have a pretty solid cupboard and I still set the bar at a national championship going into next year.
I already gave you guys our full roster on MondayWhat if a bull frog had wings?
Just kidding. I think I'm in the minority and think that Duke's gonna be pretty damn good next year. Duval, Allen, Trent, Carter, and Bolden will be a top 10 starting line up. I think Javin will explode in his sophomore year and I believe Vrank and Jack are going to give some solid minutes next season. Plus, I think not having Coach K committing time to the Olympics will be huge with this young team. Throw in Tucker and that gives us 9 quality players.

Yes, but he's not a PG.. big difference.. Allen playing PG is a huge waste of one of the most talented SG's in the nation.Does a good season necessarily hinge on Duval? Can't Allen play the point?
They won't be tired unless we have to play 3-4 days in a row, but nagging pains do accumulate. It goes without saying that Goldwire and McConnell will play important minutes if Duval isn't in Durham. God forbid we have injured guards. Call me crazy, but I like to have 3 good guards and 3 serviceable guards at any given time. We've been shallow at the position lately.Yes, but he's not a PG.. big difference.. Allen playing PG is a huge waste of one of the most talented SG's in the nation.
Also, without Duval we have 2 guards (Allen & Trent) playing 35+ min a game each, all season... think how tired they are going to be around ACC tourney time, if they aren't injured.

Get Goldwire ready. If Duval does not come, Grayson and Goldwire will be the pg for the season. Trent, McConnell, Tucker and White can play the wings...
Jam, I agree- Get Goldwire ready- at least as a Grayson backup. For those who say he's not capable, he doesnt have to score the ball- just distribute and keep a decent assists to to's rate....Sure Jackson was the much better player, but I bet Goldwire has much tighter handles right now...

Vrankovic? A leader? Of what the bench? This team will search for leadership and it's gonna have to come from all five on the floor. Allen the only senior and Big V is a junior but has yet to see a significant role even coming off the bench. If he can be a captain or leader so could one of the incoming players they have the equivalent of the same experience as big V.Really going to miss Amile and Matt. This team will need a leader. Grayson has to come of age. Vrankovic might emerge as an important voice. Trent and Carter seem pretty mature. Hopefully the team just gets along like grown men on a mission. Honestly, Duval's personality would require some consideration. I'm not sure we can go all the way without him. I'm not sure it would be smooth sailing and great chemistry with him. I'm all in on next year. Coach has yet another great shot to flex his mentorship muscles. I'm praying his health is no longer an issue.

Nailed it, pre Knox decision. Here is our 13 man scholarship roster for next season. The starters will get huge minutes, and we'll see the next 6 fight it out for the remainder with Javin getting 12+, maybe even swapping with Marques halfway through the year.
Duval
Trent
Allen
Carter
Bolden
DeLaurier
White
Tucker
Vrank
O'Connell
Goldwire
Robinson
Besser
That's my guess and I'm sticking to it. I think this is an 8 loss, Elite 8 team. Have a nice week, all.

Thanks, Sky. I'm just trying to point out that these players and coaches are a little family. Sure there is money and ego involved, but these are people that deal with many of the same problems we do. Family issues, pain, studying, etc. Go back and watch how Amile (if I recall correctly) talked about the influence of Justin Robinson during his injury recovery. Vrankovic is at every team event and practice. He's more mature and a better student than most guys on the team. This is his third go-round with one and dones. He's been with K longer than everyone except Grayson. His dad played in the NBA. There are many reasons for me to predict that Vrankovic will be a leader in the fall. Let's not forget that Vrank has actually looked better in game action thusfar than Bolden (minus that one game where Bolden brought the energy).I like what you just said here. OFC

With our roster pretty much set. I think our ceiling is Cutting the nets, floor is round of 32. A lot of youth and unproven commodities, but I think the pieces fit better than last year.
