I think Oskar returns to Sweden club ball.

Reiber I see staying. He would’ve portaled by now. And I know he likes it at RU. Don’t think playing time is his big concern

Paul Cliff and Hyatt returning to join Mag Wolfork and Simpson, plus our incoming freshman and two portal guys would give us a strong returning roster that can again compete for top of conference

I really hope Paul stays. He lead the big ten in assists when he was healthy. I think he can return to that form if healthy. Simpson would be the only guard on the roster who can play PG and he has a lot of work to do reducing turnovers. Otherwise finding a PG in the portal isn’t going to be easy. Demand is high at that position and there isn’t a lot of plug and play guys.

Rutgers has a freshmen point guard coming in who is a teammate of Ace Bailey.

If Paul comes back I really don’t see him as the PG anymore. He could play some point forward though which would give us some flexibility. The question is whether he’s willing to come back for a lesser role.

If Hyatt sticks around I’ll be very surprised. He was clearly pushed down the depth chart late in the season. He’s also an older guy who probably wants to score. I don’t blame him. OTOH maybe he decides he’s already transferred once and he’s ready to 1) move on or 2) finish it out here.

At the end of the day, Hyatt’s a guy who was supposed to be on the floor for his offense, yet his overall shooting percentage tied for worst on the team. He doesn’t play defense up to Pike’s standards and he cannot easily slide over to play on the perimeter on either side of the ball.

Who is playing point guard? Is Simpson (a guy who struggled with turnovers) going to play 40 minutes? Are you throwing a true freshman out as PG? I can’t imagine Pike wanting to do that. That would be disastrous.
