- the terrible allegations

- lose out on Eastern (and to a team we'll play 8 times)

- lose a close one to a team of the type we'll need to beat to get on the NIT bubble come March

Need to win one of our NC quality games.

This is true and thanks to improved scheduling there will be several more opportunities to do just that.

-lose a close one to a team of the type we'll need to beat to get on the NIT bubble come March

Butler is an annual NCAA tournament contender. Considering the 'Cats nearly got them in Hinkle, there's no reason to settle for the NIT bubble quite yet.

You guys realize Mystic is just a Carmody hugger that only posts here when we lose, et, al.? Don't take his low quality bait.

Remember when losing to a perennial tournament team by 2 on the road and 'losing' a top 100 recruit to a top 10 program was considered a rough day under carmody? LOL

Isn't this Collins' 4th season? How pathetic can Mystic be to hold this for so long?

Mystic trolls hard, just like some other keyboard warriors I know.

It is funny though, during the Carmody vs. Collins board wars, I sided with Carmody initially, until I realized the nature of some of the people who were on my side of the argument (Mystic, DCF). Needless to say, I recognized the error of my ways quite quickly. since they could not possibly be correct on anything!

As much of a troll as Mystic is, this board 1,000 times better than it was now that DCF is gone, imo. He was the nut worst poster.

I remember BEATING perennial tournament teams on the road and losing a top 100 recruit.

And, btw, Purdue is not close to being a top 10 program.

Wow.

Obviously, Mystic's got an agenda with his negatively directed toward the current staff, but why try to stir things up more by posting things like "Carmody hugger", etc? I guess I really don't see the purpose, especially in-season.

The '16-'17 Cats are off to an encouraging start. Plenty to be excited about even if someone like Mystic feels otherwise. It seems to me that a set of rationale responses can subdue a blatantly bias thread on their own without having to rehash old battles.

Uh Mystic started a thread just to troll. How does that make me the one who stirred things up?

Yep, he/she did. I guess I just don't get this though:

"It is funny though, during the Carmody vs. Collins board wars, I sided with Carmody initially, until I realized the nature of some of the people who were on my side of the argument (Mystic, DCF). Catsattack and I corrected the issues with this thread pretty fast. Then you said "don't take the bait" and went into the Carmody thing. I guess I don't understand the point of rehashing that. Not trying to call you out or be a jerk (I think you're a great contributor to the board), I just don't understand the thought process, that's all. Seemed like overkill.

Perhaps, I'm wrong. I really hated those threads and are glad they are in the past. Could be clouding my perspective.

Wow.
Purdue is 15 right now - 5 spots not close? Point is no shame losing a close game to butler or a recruit (who was interested in NU, but who NU wasn't an option for anyway) to a top 15 program. You're stretching.

PU definitely looked the part against Nova the other night. Getting Eastern is big for them. Guard play has been their Achilles heel in recent years.

I saw Eastern play one game last season and his team lost by one point game to a team that they had no business losing to if he is in fact a top recruit. He had around 6 points and never took the game into his hands. It was a small sample size, but I did not see the explosiveness of a Big 10 starter from Year 1. He might develop and he seemed to pass well but when the game was on the line he deferred.

As for Purdue, they have a strong team this year behind Caleb Swanigan a 6'10" PF who is leaving to go pro after the season. They have lost in the first round in the NCAA in the past two years and for a couple of years prior to that did not make the NCAA tourney. Then with their coach's seat getting hotter they beat NU and a number of teams for 7'2" Isaac Hawes. Now they are beating MSU and OSU for players so you fill in the blanks why West Lafeyette is becoming a destination school. But they are definitely not a Top 10 school.

As for NU, the injury of Falzon is severely limiting this team. My opinion he should be the no. 2 scorer and puts more pressure on McIntosh who should never try a behind the back dribble. Also, if Vic Law is hot get the ball in his hands more for more shots. Ride the guy with the hot hand.

Hmmm, I can think of a couple more than would be nice to dump.

Well, if you dumped everyone who disagreed with you there'd be no one left. How would you let your frustrations out on an empty board?;)

100 percent in agreement with Fitzphile on the last post.

Has Bob figured out who the backup point guard is?

Nah, just those that never provide any substance - like Mike. I love walker and his naive dribble.

Well, I haven't been able to watch any games. Seems like Brown may be, but also sounds like he sees a bunch of time w Mac. So you tell, during those fleeting minutes that Mac sat, who brought up the ball? Who matched up on the opponents pg?

Oh snap. You guys are fantastic. I'm enjoying my Vegas time despite wasting a few hours watching NU **** the bed from the Westgate super book.

Cool story, bro.

I wish I was techie enough to post a picture. But Google DEMA. My scuba side is well established here. It shouldn't surprise you that I attend the industry conference. Every year, alternates between Vegas and Orlando. Haven't missed one in almost ten years. Last year, I attended with my broken back as I worked back to Chicago from the Miami ICU (no flying after a chest tube for 30 days....).

So all the injuries before didn't limit the other teams?

At best, Falzon would be the #3 scoring option behind Law and BMac - and even then, would probably rotate the #3 spot w/ several other players.
