Just returned from the Iowa-Iowa State wrestling meet to get the news we play Kentucky for the 2nd year in a row. Haven't been able to read the thread here since the announcement.

BIGGEST NEWS FOR IOWA: Spencer Petras has been confirmed NOT TO PLAY in the game due to a shoulder surgery he's going to have after being hurt in the final regular season game of the year a week ago. Coach Kirk Ferentz announced this at his bowl presser within the hour.

Therefore, you won't be facing college football's worst starter QB in 2022.

And Iowa's backup Alex Padilla not available as he's already entered the portal.

Therefore, Iowa's QB will be third teamer Joey Labas who has NEVER taken a snap yet in college football in his first two years at Iowa.

Iowa fans will be wondering why the 3rd stringer wasn’t playing all year with his performance against us this year. Next year when he’s starting Iowa fans will then know why he wasn’t playing and he will be back to 2nd or 3rd string by game 3.

I am hard on the Iowa program-- more than I should be. We were 79-25 I think overall since 2015 before this season started so we've had some great success. This year though was underachieving, and the pathetic play of the offense just made it feel even worse.

You don’t understand; our defense is solid........that is....until the backup QB comes in.....and plays like Tom Brady. We’ve been burned by backup QBs far too much. It might be PTSD, but it’s a real thing.
