C - Roy Campanella 3x MVP in only 9 years of playing. He also owns the distinction of throwing out the highest percentage of base runners all-time.

1B - Joey Votto - career OBP of .421, sets up great hitting behind of Ichiro and ahead of Mays. He's been an all-star, MVP, Gold Glove winner, and an asset in the clubhouse.

2B - Robinson Cano - career .302 hitter with 324 HR's, 2 Gold Gloves, 5x Silver Slugger.

3B - Adrian Beltre - 93.6 career WAR, 477 HR's, 5x Gold Glove winner.

SS - Barry Larkin - 3x Gold Glove, 12x Silver Slugger, MVP, a bunch of All-Star teams.

LF - Moises Alou/Eric Davis - Alou can play both corners, owns a career .302 avg, and is a 6x All-Star. Davis can man any position in the outfield, and in his prime from 86-89 was one of the most dynamic players during that time. 2x All-Star, 2x Gold Glove, 3x Silver Slugger.

CF - Willie Mays - he's a top 3 player if All-Time...

RF - Ichiro - had he came over a few years earlier he likely would have had over 4k hits. He also excels in the field with his 10 Gold Gloves, to go along with his MVP, 2x Batting Champion, 3x Silver Slugger, and All-Star MVP.

OF - Eric Davis/Moises Alou - besides the explanation above, Davis adds a speed/power option off the bench vs RHP and can play any OF position. Alou adds good defense and good hitting with the ability to play the corners in the OF.

SS/3B - Maury Wills - a good switch hitter with unbelievable speed who can play either SS or 3B. He's got 2 Gold Gloves, MVP, and had 104 steals in one season.

C/1B - Victor Martinez - another switch hitter who does well on both sides of the plate. He owns a career .295 avg, and .360 OBP (.409 in 2014). He's also a 5x all-star and 2x Silver Slugger award winner.[/QUOTE]

SP Johan Santana LHP - posted an ERA under 3.0 5 out of 7 years in his prime, won 2 Cy Youngs, 3x ERA Champion, had a WHIP below 1.099 5 consecutive seasons.

SP Roy Halladay RHP - 2.37 ERA in the post season, which also includes a no-hitter. 8x All-Star, 2x Cy Young.

SP C.C. Sabathia LHP - 1 Cy Young, 6x All-Star. A dominant lefty in his prime.

SP Don Drysdale RHP - 2.95 career ERA, CY Young, 9x All-Star, MLB POY. Had 6 shutouts in a row.

Closer - Francisco Rodriguez RHP - 6x All-Star, 2x Rolaids Relief Pitcher of the year. He's the owner of the 4th most saves all-time and leads everyone else who has played 16 seasons or less like him.

My hitters are almost all 300 hitters with 30 to 40 plus home run power. Speed at the top. My pitchers are real powerhouses, with Roger Clemens being in the argument for the greatest pitcher of all time. Every single guy in my lineup can go yard, this is a lineup built for the long ball. With Rogers Hornsby, a 12 war season hitting at the three spot and nothing but huge power backing him up.

And my bench can back up every position with little to no drop off. The backup infielder and outfielder both bring power, speed and defense for versatility. And my backup catcher isn't even much of a dropoff from Mauer. I'm built to win this thing. Almost every guy I have is a Hall of Famer or almost certain to be one in the future.

The slashlines followed by homers and steals for every single one of my hitters (peak seasons):

Those stats are going to be hard for literally any team to beat, they AVERAGE almost 8 runs a game put through UKNorse's lineup generator.

As for pitching, peak seasons in order of ERA/Innings pitched/Strikeouts/WHIP:

JCrow has put together a really strong team with probably amazing team defense.

As for this matchup, I think I have the definite pitching advantage, and an advantage at C, 2b, SS, and LF. He has the clear advantage in CF and 1b. 3b and RF are close. These offenses are close.

Larkin - career .295 avg, .371 OBP, .444 slugging, .815 OPS

Ripken - career .276 avg, .340 OBP, .447 slugging, .778 ops

The only department that Ripken has on Larkin is slugging %. Larkin is faster as well, Ripken only stole 36 bases in his career to Larkin's career 379. I wish we could've seen what Larkin without injuries over the same time span like Ripken enjoyed would have led to.

Try peak value years. It's practically even. But you're right it wasn't a real advantage.
