If Burns doesnt sleep walk through 3 3/4 quarters they win easily.... But they have to forget last week and this week and play like they are capable of playing.. tonight was just plain lazy football...

What is Monroe’s bread and butter on offense? They balanced, pass heavy or what? I haven’t seen them play in a few years.
For the whole season very balanced. They have pretty much the same amount of yards rushing as they do in the air and it's quite a bit of yards in both.

avg. 409 yards per game offense

This should be burns by 20+ but then again they over looked Salisbury who they should beat by 30
Both teams have athletes but the difference will be up front. Monroe by 10.

I’m torn but I have said all year if KM and EL clash I’m there. I will say that if Burns comes out like they did last night they will play their last game. If they come out like they did vs Shelby they win by 14+.
Burns was definitely flat. I personally felt like in the first half the kids were playing not to lose instead of to win. You just gotta play your game. Again Salisbury was a good team. Good team speed and physical. But we should have done more then we did. We will take the W and move in. Hoping the boys come out fired up on a mission this week.
Dogs get very focused this week and win by 7....one of the biggest games in Lawndale in many years.
Not only was there kids dead, I thought the home crowd was dead too. I don’t know if everyone was cold or worried, but we can’t have that. We’ve got to give the kids a true home field advantage.
Looked much more of a social event to me. With an entrance like that you would have thought it would have been energetic. I didn’t see real fire in the crowd until the last few min when they thought they were going to have to find something else to do on a Friday.

I’ve always liked Burns, from the goats, to the bomb, to the poaching from Crest and Shelby, Lawndale stands tall. Win it all, brothers!!!
Monroe will travel decent, but their side is always lively…. And that band is top-tier.
That band is absolutely top-tier. Excellent.

I don't share your optimism about the crowd, but there should be plenty of outsiders like me watching this dillywhopper of a matchup.

they've all been inconsistent, slow starting, or mental lapses.... ALL of them. They play of all of them just looks goofy, unlike last season when everyone was dangerous.

I know yall played them close. How did that game go?
We jumped out to a 12-0 lead and they came back and we lost 21-19. We also missed two extra points and a field goal so we had them beat. Our usually reliable kicker had a bad night.
Yeah we have speed for sure. The thing about Monroe and FH is they're always good when track season comes around.
Were you able to get pressure on the QB? How's their offensive and defensive line play?
My opinion, Monroe will be the faster team, no doubt about it. They are probably the fastest team left in the playoffs. Burns, though not slow, will be the more physical team, the bigger team. “Speed vs Physicality”. Will Monroe be too fast? Can Burns impose its will on Monroe?
Another thing and not to pile on the runningback, but he must get north and south faster. Know when to hit it, and get what yardage he can. Monroe will be too fast to be trying to bounce everything outside. Don’t lose unnecessary yardage, creating “3rd and longs”.

The couple of times I have seen Monroe over the years, they looked like Shelby to me, personnel wise. Pardon the Shelby reference, just a comparison.

Actually we got great pressure on the QB that night. I think 4 sacks can't remember for sure. Lines aren't bad. They're not huge compared to some but do make holes when needed. If Burns can contain the Crosby kid and the QB they'll win. Also they're good in kick/punt return department. Monroe took a couple back into East Surry territory Friday night before they were finally brought down.
