I don't think it matters with this OC. If he caught a long TD pass, he would probably get lost in the rotation and not play again until next week.
It seems like the staff is so focused on play sheets and personnel groupings that they don't know who has the hot hand and how to get them the ball. That's what I always liked about Carlen, Morrison and Spurrier - they knew who their playmakers were and how to get them the ball.

Great coaches just have an uncanny feel for the game. That's getting lost in the analytics-driven culture of sports. The great ones still have it though.

Beamer's first coordinator got the blame for this "rotation" BS. Kinda makes you wonder who is behind it now that we are 3 coordinators in.

To be clear, Beamer's first OC sucked but this rotation thing looks like a trend in Beamer's direction.

What do those coaches have in common? They were proven, successful Head Coaches prior to coming here. Along with Holtz, the best Head Coaches we have ever had here.

Miss the days when the best players played the whole game. Don't remember seeing Harold Green, Sterling Sharpe or Robert Brooks coming out for unless they were extremely gassed. There were no RB rotations or WR rotations. The best play and if they can't someone else will and may take their starting spot. That was when starting and playing meant more than the paycheck. Can't get hurt or you won't get paid.

You have to placate people now. John Wooden would never have made it today. He never played more than seven people during UCLA's glory years, eight at the most.
