He's now out for the year and should be dropped from the 40 man roster, although they might keep him around only because the farm system is so empty.

Kinda stinks for Bubba. He was in line for a September call-up. It's doubtful he'll make the club out of spring training next year, so his ML debut will have to wait another year.

I didn't realize that he never made it yet.

Ouch! For the Royals of course.

Paying that much money and getting very little out of it. Bubba hit the lottery for sure.

It was a not guarantee that he would be called up, but I think KC would have brought him up. If nothing else to at least see if he could contribute something. I think he was hitting at a fair level in AAA. His speed and defense are said to be elite ML level now. Given that the Royals have had Terrance Gore on the roster for parts of the the past 4 seasons, letting Bubba get some time makes sense.
