we jumped 21 spots to 30 in the rpi after the series win. Of course none of it will matter if we don’t get to .500 in the sec. take the Tennessee series next weekend and we could be back in the hunt.

I agree. And if you look at the last half of the SEC season, they have a chance to compete. A poker chip in hand a a seat at the poker table. That’s all you can ask for. #ChipAndAChair

Halfway through SEC play... won't be easy but Florida is playing poorly as is USC, so there are some wins there to be had. Tennessee is solid, but not unbeatable. Vandy and Arkansas will be pretty brutal though.

Mississippi State was in a similar position as UK last year IIRC. A well-timed hot streak would be nice. At least get yourself to the SEC Tourney, give you a fighting chance.

Is SEC tourney t10 or 12? Looks like 9 spots are taken unless somebody falls apart. 5 teams in the 4-6 win area battling for the final spot(s) with 4 of them being in the east division all if which UK still has to play .

Top 12.

It is pretty unlikely that we make the NCAA tournament. As we saw last year, you have to be at or above .500 in conference play if you want to make it. We are 4-11 with 15 left to go. We, obviously, would have to win 11 of our next 15 to get to .500. So, we would have to win every series and get 1 sweep; get 3 sweeps and avoid getting swept in two, get two sweeps along with two series wins and avoid getting swept.

I like to be optimistic, but with series against Arkansas and Vanderbilt, it ain't going to be easy and seems highly unlikely.

We can still get into the SEC tournament. Alabama and South Carolina seem as poor as we are and we play USC. Florida is really struggling this year with the worst ERA in the SEC, but they are still 4th in hitting. They have had a tough schedule though.

I'll do my weekly breakdown here in a bit... should be an interesting look in.
