I was watching a Padres/Braves game with the Padres announcers using one of these descriptions. Which one you got?

It was always referred to as a "rubber" in my day....
As in ... "your foot has to be off the rubber" pitcher/pick off throw......

The pitcher's plate does exist. It's the one on the bottom.

We can debate about what the "pitcher's(ing) rubber" is/is not, but there's no question that this is the only rubber for hitters...



If it's good enough for Teddy Ballgame, it's good enough for me.
