In Tourney game, I saw a player pick up his dribble, shoot the ball against the backboard, completely missing the rim. He then caught the rebound and started dribbling again. Doesn't seem right that a player can in effect through himself a pass and re start to dribble again.

It is good as long as you make a shot attempt that clears the rim you can get your own rebound doesn’t even have to hit the rim
