And those rumors are saying it will not be happening.

Some folks around here are trying to beat the Mick Cronin drum. Some Beard talk too, but most say his baggage is a no go. My guess is May is still a possibility. He didn't say "no way".

Brad Steven's is not leaving his job as the president of basketball for the Boston Celtics, who are in the middle of trying to win 2 NBA titles in a row lol.

Indiana would be a massive step back for him on all fronts. Lesser job, more volatile sport, and probably less pay/benefits, worse city, worse organization.

Why on earth would someone like Brad Steven’s want to go to Indiana. Or any coach for that matter. Trash state and program
Well he has been on record as saying Indiana was his dream school. Doesn’t mean he would leave is current gig but just saying

Brad Steven's just won a nba championship and is the best GM in the league at 1 of the 2 most storied franchises.

Doesn't have to worry about recruiting, nil, and the transfer portal.

if IU doesn't go after beard or pearl they are not serious about basketball and deserve to have their program shut down from irrelevance...they have no high ground to stand on about "baggage"

Stevens coached college at Butler for 6 years. In years 4-6 he lost 10/15/9 games while in the Horizon for two seasons and Atlantic 10 his last year.

They beat Murray State by 2 in second round in first year he went to the Final 4 and Old Dominion by 2 in the first round the next year. He loses those two games and nobody would even know who he was.

they have too many pride issues to let someone takeover their program. that’s what holds them down. iu needs to kill off the old guard and get a young coach with a modern system. you have to trust somebody. they don’t have a c.m. newton to call a shot like that.

Rick Pitino! Just when Kentucky fans were starting to get over him going to Little Brother he throws in with IUse2Be whose fans are even more loathsome and ugly and jealous of the Cats.

They tried 65-year-old Woodson last time. He was just a little too young for the job. Rick at 72 has another decade or so in the tank…
Rick is a New Yorker. He loves coaching in New York and is perfect for St. John’s. He also loves the University of Kentucky and now that he is back in good graces with the fans ect: he wouldn't strew that up at the end of his career

He doesn’t care about that.

I don’t believe he would leave NY. But not for those reasons.

Yes their fans are definitely still living in Knights shadow.

I watched a bit of UCLA vs IU at the Chinese buffet tonight (I didn’t have a choice). Looks like IU got rid of those 1950s uniforms but I didn’t see their warmups. Adidas uniforms.

Don't know why Pearl would wanna go to IU though. He already has built a machine in Auburn.
Because at the end of the day it's still Auburn. Auburn basketball will go back to being Auburn basketball in a few years and we'll be talking about how Georgia basketball is primed to be the new powerhouse in the SEC. We're the only constant in this league.

If he were to resurrect IU he could be governor of Indiana.
