Right out of the old
PSU playbook, blame the source. Since it all apparently a big lie made up by Bartlett and the paper, let us know when Carter sues both for defamation and slander and wins. Until then, maybe quit covering for scumbags, it tends to rub off on you.
Hey I was just glad you all were able to like something from Penn State, broaden your mindset a little bit. I for one love corn, so thank you for that.

Where did I say anything about fingers in an anus? That's you being desperate. Beau reported Staroccis penchant for inappropriate touching during drilling which was apparently corroborated by others. I don't know or care where Carter stuck his fingers. If other high level wrestlers knew what he was doing was inappropriate, I'll take their word for it.
I read your vague "wrestlers who reported it" as referring to any anonymous wrestler or Bartlett reported, and in the context of all other comments in this thread.

Facts appear that safe sport and PSU internal investigation are over with no finding against Carter.

No "other wrestler" (let alone an elite one) is on record to my knowledge. Separate reports are other wrestlers told Syd things just to get her to stop bothering them.

Oh yes, that ironclad "internal investigation" from those honest PSU admins 🙄

The same way a football coach and athletic dept cover up child rape for years yet still became icons of the program. People in power knew yet did nothing. It's simply a culture problem that's infested college athletics at psu among others. Winning and success matter more than anything else. The staff knew Carter was a thief, a bully, and committing sexual in nature offenses against his teammates, but they chose to let him compete bc it helped them win, period. As soon as he was done serving that purpose he was cut loose from the program.

My post was certainly not meant to imply that all of Bartlett’s claims were untrue. I hope and believe they will be investigated. My post was simply a joke regarding a widely discussed belief based on the many posts from Bartlett’s wife with serious accusations.
The fact that you make light of the accusations that are being made says everything about you and the whole Penn State fan base. I've never seen a whole society of people cover up and point fingers in different direction than you all. It sickens me actually.

He said the coaches did nothing for all those? And you believe they did nothing?

I take the whole thing as they did something, but it wasn't to the Bartletts' satisfaction. And I believe their "nothing" refers to no resulting satisfaction; as in, 'they did nothing ... that got me my stolen goods back' or 'they did nothing that resulted in punishing the person I accused.'

Please provide Beau quotes stating he was groped or that's your take from the Collegian article? Or was it the anonymously attributed 'other wrestler?'

To me, certain posts were vague as to his complaint and the Collegian Article wasn't clear as to who the reporter was referring to for the allegations gathered.

Obviously, we now understand there was a police investigation of locker theft, an internal PSU investigation, and a safe sport investigation. How are you so certain that the coaches weren't involved in doing something regarding those?

I mean, you already admitted you don't know any details of any investigation. Seems like the wheels of due process have turned a bit.
You take it they did something? What did they do? If he robbed, sexually assaulted and nude photographed Bartlett as he says he did, the only did something would be to involve law enforcement. Anything less and they are absolutely complicit to a couple felonies.

This may surprise some of you, but the police do not go after or spend hardly any time on these kinds of thefts. I know of 2 people who had things stolen and the cops did not give it any attention.

One guy had his car stolen and it was found the next all banged up. The guy asked the cops what they were going to do and the cops said nothing. You got your car back. They did not investigate at all. Another guy had his bike stolen and the cops would not even look at film footage.

Minor theft is not even on their radar for things to do.. Writing DUIs and speeding tickets are another story. Those generate money.

So the cops saying they could not contact Starocci for 6 months should probably read the cops did not attempt to contact him for 6 months.
The campus police were investigating this, not municipal.

More random BS spouting. UPPS investigated and their PR provided the statement. Courtesy of Google:

"At Penn State, University Police and Public Safety (UPPS) is the full-service police agency with sworn officers who have full law enforcement authority, while campus police typically have limited jurisdiction. UPPS serves all 22 Penn State campuses across Pennsylvania, with responsibilities including managing security systems, investigating threats, and enforcing laws. Campus police, on the other hand, may have a more limited scope, focusing on law enforcement duties within the school grounds and relying on local police for some investigative services."

Somehow you think State College police would've been more thorough or qualified?

You couldn't have stepped on the mat at any point in your life if this is your take. Bullying and dick move, certainly, but SA, LMFAO.

Plenty of other avenues for you to pursue, but this certainly is interesting.

Not sure what “mats” you wrestled on, but if ANYONE tried to intentionally touch my private parts(including 5 on 1 or butt drag oil check) let alone off the mat, they were getting a fist in their face as many times as I could give it.

Sugar coating ANY of the allegations, if true, as a “wrestling norm” is 100% an affront to wrestling. No remotely right minded “bully” wants to touch other wrestler’s genitalia without some deviant, sexual mindset. That’s like saying raping in prison isn’t sexual. It’s just about dominance….

Locating and interviewing CS has nothing to do with competence. The discussion is whether campus theft would be more of a priority to the UPPS or to the State College PD.

So taking it that Nits proclaim this is finished. Bartletts and anyone else making allegations against their Star is trash and lying, Cael managed expertly, and the Star is the face of their program. Is the Star back in the room with Snyder et al now or did he ever leave?

100%. That's exactly how it should/would/has been handled.

I'm not sugarcoating it, but I'm guessing you wouldn't be filing a SA complaint, though. It's not a "wrestling norm," but it happens enough that we all know the jargon for it. And it's not happening for someone to get off on, it's happening because some assh*le is going to cross the line and is trying to dominate you. Just like the guys who stick their thumb in your carotid, et al.

Combat sports are brutal - the point is dominating your opponent - and a lot of guys don't compete with integrity. And there is a way to deal with that, which you and I agree upon.

Like I said, there are a lot of other ways to go if you want to crucify Starocci. But that crap - the oil-check/5-on-1 crap - is just white noise amplified by people who haven't competed in a combat sport. It just makes our sport in general look bad to people who don't really understand it. Which is an awful lot of people.

But you incorrectly seem to imply something about campus police, when in fact they are different from UPPS, "campus police" weren't involved, and you seemed to think the resources of UPPS are lesser than State College's.

So what was your point, exactly? And what is the basis for your assumptions?
I get neither.

And I think some already indicated the priority of a petty theft would be great for neither.

Perhaps not every detail of CS behavior is being listed in the official report? It seems like you penn state groupies are implying if its not in the police report, it never happened. It's hard to imagine all of this drama came from simple petty theft with some rumors on the side

The simple truth is, touching someone without their permission, outside of the on the mat competition is illegal. Touching their private parts without their permission IS, sexual assault. No matter how you want to slice the mindset when perpetrating the crime, it IS SA. Imagine touching a female wrestler that way and trying to use the argument you just used about "bullies".

Mind you, I am talking about the alleged touching off the mat. On the mat, I still think it can be an issue, but proving the intent of a "questionable wrestling move" is definitely not likely, unless you have a history of people complaining about it....

If ANY of this is true, NO ONE should be sweeping ANY of it under the rug. It seems a ton of the allegations are very hard to prove and, as is almost always the case in any Sexual Assault Allegations, almost exclusively a "he/she said, he/she said" situation...

What the f are you talking about "off the mat?"

Are you suggesting that the alleged "oil check" or five on 1 happened off the mat?" If so, I have no idea where you got that information and does not track with anything I've read.

Unless you are suggesting that there is some kind of difference between wrestling in a sanctioned competition or wrestling in a competitive practice in terms of this. Like, it's just questionable or dickish behavior if there's a ref there, but it rises to the level of sexual assault if it happens in practice.

If this is the case, you are truly as insufferable to have a "discussion" with as has been advertised.

What official report?

Sure, there are other allegations that wouldn't be investigated by UPPS given Carter lives off campus, assuming someone filed a complaint.

People seem to have extended what I wrote as some kind of defense of Carter as a human being. I don't know him.

I have only sought to clarify the distinction between rumor and fact, as the parties involved have released various statements in various venues. Many on social media and in forums are not accurately reflecting the factual statements made or reported by the Collegian. So, much like @Corby2, I have been waiting for due process to play out.

In particular, since SNL posted Carter had been put on the Safe Sport list, shortly after he was removed, they should've reposted that amended to state as much. To the best of my knowledge from searching their posts, they still have not.

But this is the state of social media and this forum.

How about imagine it is a Johnny Knoxville Jack@$$ type ball tap or an old school towel snap to the buttocks?

Bullying, simple assault, or sexual assault?

In every jurisdiction?

I think it can be in many jurisdictions. Alternatively, it might be considered sexual harassment.

No. The locker room allegations involved the Snapchat photos. Which disappear unless you take a screenshot of it - which, of course, no one has.

The five-on-one and/or oil check, or whatever it was, was described by the student reporter as having taken place at practice, reported as in "full view of the coaches" for extra effect.

There is a combination of factors involved in the peripheral stuff here, which most likely involves some dickish behavior and probably also involves some hyperbolic reactions (see "in full view of coaches.")

There are also some serious allegations, one of which seems to have been fully investigated and closed (theft), and the other, which seems unclear in its status (the actual SA against women). Obviously, the former was not adjudicated to the satisfaction of the Bartletts, although it is unclear to me what anyone could have done based on the evidence that everyone on both sides seems to agree was available. The latter, and far more serious, well, nobody involved has given a statement about what is going on, which would be expected during an investigation of an allegation as serious as that.

Those are the things that should matter, not the "white noise" of the peripheral stuff. In my opinion, that speaks to the fact that Carter is probably a "d*ck," which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has been in the sport, but the jury is out as to whether he's guilty of something more serious than that despite everyone's rush to judgment (both for and against him).

Honestly, so much of this is so cringeworthy that I haven’t gone into it, in depth. Much like the news, I really don’t want the specifics of the horrible things people may or may not have done. I just knew that more people came out besides the Bartletts and even rape was an allegation. Sadly, I started reading Mrs. Bartlett’s postings and quickly ran away from it all….

Regardless, it’s a bit scary that you are trying to die on a hill trying to just make him a “dickhead” focusing on just the mat things, while ignoring just how icky the things off it are, if true…

I already had to go through Nasser and you, I assume, through Sandusky. Better to just stay quiet and let it all play out than to try in ANY WAY to make light of ANYTHING they may or may not have done…

I'm not dying on any hill. I've repeatedly said there are other avenues to pursue.

If you want to discuss things like a rational person, engaging in hyperbole makes you less credible and indicates your not trying to engage with the subject as objectively as you can. There are certainly a lot of people - both involved or not involved - that have taken that route Everyone has bias, but you can at least try and set some of it aside if you want to have a rational discussion.

I guess another route is to not get into the details or "want any specifics" in your case, read any debriefs, and just believe something because "you think it is so." There is certainly a lot of evidence that this is a successful strategy in today's world. You may even be able to rule the world one day if you get good enough at it.

I mean, you engaged me. Then didn't have the facts correct. Then you admit you don't know the facts, but it's because you didn't want specifics, lol. Am I in alt-world or something with this? You also throw the strawman in there about the other allegations which I have repeatedly declined to engage because my post had nothing to do with it. It only had to do with one specific allegation that a poster is talking out his *** on. No comment one way or another from me about the most serious allegation because I just don't know enough.

I'd love to see you and Trump in a debate. You would likely hold your own.
