He’s not coming back to show he’s a better blocker.
Improve his draft position?

Here’s his draft evaluation. It does give it lower rating for pass blocking but then again in the description it listed as a strength. You look at his run blocking and he’s ranked in the top 10 out of a eligible running backs so I don’t think he’s as bad as you’re claiming or as good as the other poster is claiming .
Then why is he coming back? Is he not NFL ready?

38th percentile? Strength? Intersting

And my primary point is that he did not turn out anything near #1 back. Does not mean he was “bad”. And maybe he will get better and improve his standing.

it is possible - he is a tremendous athlete.

And PA FWIW. I grew up in NE Ohio close to the PA border. No difference between NE Ohio and NW PA.
Yeah, but the difference is the rest of PA gets better. Ohio…not so much.

Word on the street is this has been in the works for some time and appears family plays a role in it. CJF will find a great replacement.
Correct, Franklin has a list he updates every year. No doubt the new coach will be a recruiter.

College nostalgia for this board aside, State College doesn’t have a lot to offer a family that’s lived in bigger metro areas. And having grown up in State College, I imagine it has even less to offer a family of color.

My wife is a PSU grad like me, but she’d never remotely consider living there. For an up and coming coach, PSU offers a great resume builder, but nobody should fault the family for moving on after a few years.

This is the game. It’s good to see Franklin and PSU embracing it. They’ll find a great replacement.

Top programs lose asst coaches all of the time. Just look at all of the asst. coaches that programs like OSU, Georgia and especially Saban-Alabama have lost over the years. The number of current great HCs that coached under Saban is mind-boggling

But ND is in Indiana- who wants to live there?
I grew up in PA. Moved to Los Angeles. Lived in Boston. Now live in Carmel Indiana. Carmel is 10000% the best place I have ever lived. I dreaded moving here because I thought the same thing that you wrote. Great people. Amazing infrastructure. Top notch public and private schools. Good food. But to keep all of this up we do need everyone else to believe it sucks. So do not let me change your mind.

Not much diversity there. That is why the schools are still good. Probably no low income housing either.

I definitely think we got the better end of the DC hire over OSU, they are none too happy with that choice.

ok, why is the statement correct ??? what is YOUR reason why the location is nice ??
Carmel high school has 5200 students 9-12. It has students from all backgrounds but, like most places, whites are majority. Like most towns it has nice parts and some not as nice parts. In general the north side of Indianapolis has $$$. Again I don’t agree with the assessment but I could see how you could think that.

This thread has gone a bit off topic to say the least…..any new chatter about the next RB coach?

Unless there is an unforeseen bump in the road....Stan is the man! 2 natties as a RB coach....NFL and HC experience. Knows his way around the SEC and the Big 10. Could actually be an upgrade. What do we think BWICAC?I know fanboys got all moist between the legs over DM, but great players aren't necessarily great coaches.

1-year contract supposedly. I would doubt that salary, but who knows these days?
I agree, scoured the net, couldn't find anything beyond the posted link concerning salary. Stan is a great hire considering the circumstances with time before spring training.
His input can only help our current RB room. Zeke, Bijan and his other coached players seem similar to Nick and Katron's style.

I really have no opinion about it other than curiosity. Why just a 1 yr contract?
Not sure, they didn’t call me during negations.
Isn’t he still getting paid by Temple? Could be one year at a lower salary so Temple essentially foots the bill, then a new contract after that. Essentially a one year contract but a multi-year agreement? I really don’t know.
