I have not seen any discussion here but in multiple places reports have surfaced that he may visit UofL... KSR reporting that (and to be clear I think it was reported as "hearing") his commitment is less solid. Thoughts?

To me this reads as a family trying to leverage their son's commitment to get dad a job interview for the open WR coaching position. Again, this is only my uninformed opinion and truthfully I don't care if he visits UofL; I just hope he doesn't contract any STDs while on the visit.
I think if the wide receivers and the qbs have a good year we're in good shape

Nobody knows if that is indeed the case (except for them). However, a BIG reason why it is not a good idea to hire the older Yeast at this time, is because Dad's coaching their own son's is a potential locker room divide just waiting to happen, IMHO. As I posted in another thread, I do hope that Yeast does coach at UK someday, however, I just don't think that the timing is currently right, for many reasons.

He's a legacy and his dad was a star here. I guess since he committed I figured he was in the bag.

If he & his father want to be apart of Tard Nation than so be it.

Yes, because Archie Manning pushed his prodigal son to Tennessee. [eyeroll]

Legacy recruits aren't as big a deal as they used to be. More and more legacy recruits are choosing schools besides their fathers' alma maters and that's fine by me. Russ goes to UL and Craig is still a wildcat to me. Hopefully it's just a phase, but I agree I'd like him to stay committed to UK.

There is two sides to this. If gran and hinshaw don't see him as a good fit they may have advised him of that. We just offered a slot wr that is commited to cincy.

With the 3rd OC in 3 years, the way the team has self destructed the last 2 years, I think it would not be unreasonable to have some doubts.
Amen..how can you not...if the head man dosen't seem to know what he wants and on his 3rd OC then that should throw up a red flag in your mind

Hard to believe the timing of this doesn't have something to do with the WR coach opening and whether or not Craig is being considered or not. All momentum since the seasons end has been very positive considering so this is too random to come out of the blue. Not sure if Craig or Russ got upset over Craig not being more of a target (IF That is the case at all) but sure seems somebody did. If he were looking at Mich St it would be one thing but UL has a touch of spite to it.
Or maybe he just wants to look around period. Either way Craig is one of my all time favorites and would love to have Russ.

We have lost several of those over the last few years...

Yeast just received an offer from Michigan, and he was being recruited by Cincinnati. I doubt that he doesn't "fit" here.

You can play that game when you are Alabama not when you are Kentucky. We need players that can play in the SEC and most of those will have Kentucky as their 3rd or 4th option. We have to take who we can get and hope some of those players run into scholarship numbers at other places and they end up here. Either way we are not in any position to tell talented players that we don't need them because they are looking around.

Before rumors get crazy. Russ Yeast tweet is not him de-committing. He's more surprised by the move of Scott leavin.

Sorry TBCat you are wrong. Yeast may make the visit but that is his decision. If he wants to play for Bobby Petrino so be it. Of course we will be down the line of some recruits. The good thing is there will be someone out there as good or better. That is how I look at this. Again you don't want to be here UK will find someone who does.

Not a personal attack on you. D Harris played us and went to Bama. Bama gets most every body they want but bad example you can't compare UK to Bama. The bottom line is it's Yeast decision not yours or mine.

He seemed upset over some fans deriding the TE, Charles Reeves, that decommited on Twitter. Hope he sticks, loved how his Dad performed here.

Hope he sticks to but if he is visiting are most hated rival hard for me to get excited over him. These kids that commit there Jr years need to stop unless there 100 percent sure. If you ask for the attention when you commit you gotta accept some negativity when you back out. It's early though we have a stud te who is a sophomore and two really good prospects behind him. This staff can recruit we will be a solid offense this year. The commits will come

Craig FREAKIN Yeast isn't sending his son to Louisville.

Have some sense people.

It wouldn't be that shocking. Craig Yeast has stated publicly that he wanted to play for UofL. Did you know that? Guess it's a good thing UofL "stopped recruiting" Craig as he says at the beginning of the video linked, or he probably would have been a Cardinal.

Anyway, I have sense and yes, Craig FREAKIN Yeast sending his son to Louisville is not far fetched, at all. That's not even factoring in that UK football is a mess right now.

Who cares that he "wanted to go to Louisville".

The fact is he didn't and is a UK legacy that has been a very vocal supporter of Kentucky football for years and years.

He isn't sending his son to A.) Louisville, and to B.) play for Bobby Petrino.

UK will soon hire a hot shot WR coach and all of this will be mute.

Start paying attention. It is how recruiting works.

You must know Craig personally? If not, you know nothing and anything is possible.

Yeast clearly isn't some UK fan that hates all things Louisville.

Things like "Legacy" and being a vocal supporter or whatever doesn't mean anything when kids want to go somewhere where A.) They win and B.) The coaching staff isn't questioned as being inept and dysfunctional.

Start paying attention. It is how college football works.

As of 1/21/16 the kid is committed to University of Kentucky.

You have clearly let the negativity surrounding the program in he past few months cloud your ability to think rationally.

I think everybody wants Yeast at UK but if he ends up at ul it's not the end of the world. This staff can recruit and will continue to bring in high level WRs, especially if Gran gets the O rolling.

He may end up at UM, UF, UL, UK or some other school. It would be a shame for him not to be a leader in this class for UK (I believe he will be, BTW), but he has to do what he thinks is best for him.

After listening to Justin Rowland this morning, it seems as if the Yeast are a little upset at the attention they are receiving. He also said that UK wouldn't play around with them and that if they wanted to be a Wildcat, they needed to start acting like it. Knowing Craig a little bit and his ego, I can easily see his son at UL..

Maybe, but I wouldn't say I'm thinking irrationally. With UK football, anything goes. You should know that.

I absolutely LOVE this attitude....despite everything that happened last season, Stoops and staff still have that "swagger" and don't seem inclined to play that game with kids that can easily be replaced.....I can see them move on fast like they did with the Baker kid if he actually DOES visit Little Brothel......I want Yeast but he DID commit to UK.....he needs to remember that or just go ahead and decommit.

Last i checked, Russ Yeast is committed to the University of Kentucky in which it was a pledge Mark Stoops accepted.

Not sure what more UK can do to start acting like they want him.
