I do not agree with the idea of him going to visit UofL, but its his life and not mine. Its obvious the fans really want Russ at UK. The Yeast's are UK family and football royalty, but this program is at a point where it has to start showing improvement on the field and Stoops is at a critical juncture of his tenure. I love Craig and all he did for UK, but I want wins. Not saying to piss off former UK players and families, but its time to start winning and not worry about hurting someone's feelings.
If Russ wants to go to UofL and UK replaces him with someone as good or better then move on and win games. Craig just has to realize (fair or not) he is put on a different pedestal in the eyes of the UK football fanbase and its just not a good look on his legacy in the eyes of a lot of the fans if his son where to decommit and go to UK's most hated rival. I can't speak for the UK staff, but they have to be in a position where they gave Craig's son a scholarship. Not sure what else they expect. At some point, the staff has to concentrate on getting this program turned around and not trying to cater former players and their kids at every turn. If the parent and/or kid is not happy then its time to move on and find the next option.
All that said, I think this is all a mute point because Russ has stated he is not going to decommit. I am sure this has taken the family back a bit, but if anything, it should show them how passionate this fanbase is about Craig, his legacy, and the prospect of his son playing for UK. In a weird way, the backlash should be taken as a compliment.
