How are they even surviving with a $500 million deficit? They lost $78 million this year alone. And how in the world are they going to revenue share?

If I were associated with Rutgers, what would be most concerning is that the deficits are growing. The deficit was $78m in 2024-25 alone and that number is expected to grow for 2025-26. They are going to lose $100m a year in the very near future.

At some point the smart people in the room will say No More! It’s not worth it.Small schools like G5 and FCS already asking that question. One day the Carolina BOT might be faced with question though not any time soon.

I struggle to see how they even remain functional after losing $78 million in a single year.

I hope the whole house of cards that is college athletics collapses. College athletic departments and associations have turned into government like entities when it comes to money. No amount of money is enough. Their answer for every problem is for the fans to give more.
